I'll start off by saying that while I looked for similar threads, I can't be sure that it hasn't been mentioned before, so feel free to direct me there if this has already been discussed.
Anyway, ship fittings. Once in a while you get a fitting you like, and you like it a lot. You know its ins and outs, and can get the best results with it. Then it gets blown up.
The old adage among PvP pilots is to always have backup ships in your hangar. This is excellent advice that should always be practiced. However, it can be tiring fit ten of the same ships, as each one must first be assembled and have every module individually dragged into place. I propose a way to save fittings as a blueprint of sorts.
It would go something like this: You have a fit you like. You save it as a blueprint (or whatever it would be called) and viola, you now have a BPO that will make exactly what you want, but instead of being built out of raw materials, it will be built out of hulls, modules, and rigs. They will have no value as the required components will already have been built, and require no skills to make. They will simply be a convenient way to save and access a specific fitting.
Once you have it saved, you can open it up and run it however many times you like, as long as you have the components. There will be no build time, as it's simply fitting ships. If you run out of components (for example, you don't have enough 10MN MWD IIs), it will tell you how many components shy of the fit you are so you can adjust your runs accordingly.
Wouldn't change gameplay or disrupt balance, it would just be an easier way to fit a lot of ships quickly. What do you think? |

Is this something different than being able to auto-fit a ship through the fitting window using a saved fit (which is already in game)? He's not just famous, he's "IN" famous. - Ned Nederlander

This is such an excellent idea, that it already exists. If you have all the necessary modules, rigs and ammo in your hangar then all you have to do is board the ship, open your favourite fitting from the fittings browser and click the "fit" button.

I feel incredibly silly and suddenly enlightened, as in the year and a half I've been playing, I honestly didn't know that was a possibility
Many thanks, you may disregard my derp. |

No worries, a few posts back I missed the part where Minmatar T2 ships got T2 resist bonuses to both armor and shield. Yeah, looked liked a supreme idiot. One thing you'll need to remember is that all the stuff needs to be in the main hanger for it to combine. He's not just famous, he's "IN" famous. - Ned Nederlander
