To dispense with forum formality: Is this a feature or idea?
Next, while I appreciate your stance on religion and atheist perspective (no sarcasm) I'm not certain what you are seeking to accomplish here. Whether it is or not doesn't really matter for a few reasons (imo) 1. It's a fictional game set thousands of years into the future based on Earth based life/history as its genesis (no pun intended). 2. CCP is an Icelandic company. Meaning that whatever gripe, real or imagined, you have based on religion and (I have to assume the US's separation of Church and State plays into this - if I am wrong vOv) is meaningless because: foreign country, private company, virtual assets, voluntary participation in and implied acceptance of company's art assets 3. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iceland#Religion (Iceland is primarily Lutheran Christian to begin with so.....) 4. It's a game? If you think it IS a cross (whether it is or isn't doesn't even matter) and it bothers you that much, then relocate to a more acceptably "Heathen" station? 5. Live out of a POS? Wait nevermind, those all kind of look like crosses, kind of, sort of, except for the one that looks like a Shepherd's Crook....damn nope not that one either.....hmm.....you might be screwed unless you move to a different station. Good thing these millions of cubic meters of material are virtual and easily transported.

Someone hit the nail in the head, FINALLY!!!.
We all know CCP is, in reality, just an offshoot of the Roman Catholic church. The widespread hate for Amarr and the lack of a proper buff to my Slicer is evidence of this - CCP, or should I say the Roman Catholic church, is trying to portray all brown people as terrorists that steal your gold and set you on fire! Hide yo wives! Hide yo kids! Hide yo husband too, because dem terrorists gonna use you as slaves!
The Gallente are portrayed as party druggies. Those newfangled drunk drivers like to drive supercapitals into stations - this is obviously an attack on my right to drink alcohol and run a spaceship full of hookers into a station full of greedy people! CCP IS TAKING AWAY MY FREEDOM!
The portrayal of the Caldari is an obvious insult to the goals of capitalism. The Caldari look like greedy-ass motherf*ckers - it's like combining North Korea and China with child labor in some African country, like Somalia! And now they produce weapons of mass destruction, so add in Soviet Russia and Iran and maybe even Syria for safe measures! Yes, the Caldari are Satan incarnate, composed of the very worst of North Korea, China, African child labor, Soviet Russia, Iran, and Syria!
But guess what! The insult to freedom doesn't stop there! Look at the way they portray the Minmatar! Honorable people fighting for freedom are made to look like some futile, uncivilized tribal nation that relies on duct-tape for "protection". In short, they want to make you feel like some primitive hobo with a skirt made of rusted iron and a roll of duct tape with the intent to claim freedom! I will not let this infringement of my human rights go unnoticed!
But it doesn't stop there! The Jove are the Roman Catholic Church! They take it upon themselves to protect hisec, the benevolent Concord with a perfect K:D ratio, and "the white man's burden" has been changed to "the Jove man's burden"! LOOK AT THIS! Now the Church is portrayed as some sort of ever-present all-superior organization with all the power, all other races are inferior and hopeless compared to CCP! |

I dont know if this is accidental or deliberate but as an atheist i don't really appreciate looking at it much and i'm sure folks of different religions don't like it much either.
The symbol of the cross pre-dates Christianity and was used by the Greeks, the Chaldeans, the Egyptians and the Norse so the mere presence of a cross in the structure or decore of a station does not neccessarily reflect a support of christianity. Not that any of that matters, as one poster already pointed out this is EVE. This is a universe thousands of years removed into the future and while some people may choose to RP their personal RL faiths into their play, it isn't part of accepted lore. Game religion and RL religion don't mix.
Religion, however, has been a major driving force in human existance since the dawn of time for good or ill. So from a lore standpoint, to assume that people would suddenly quit their quest for god(s) after the closing of the EVE gate would be hard to believe. The Amarr apparently created their own mono-theistic religion based very loosely around Catholisism, and from the bits I've been able to gather the Matar tribes worship a pantheon not unlike the Norse gods. The Gallente and Caldari seem to be more of the deiest/agnostic/atheistic variety but since aide from the Amarr, religion lore topics are rather sketchy so its hard to say. And while in RL you may not agree with a particular venue of faith, or any of them, all of them have made contributions to arts and science and their cultural impact on the way we live cannot be denighed. To expect post-apocolyptic EVE to suddenly wipe out what has been one of human-kind's major motivations to innovation or horrorific cruelty so it fits your particular beliefs would be nearly as wrong as posting a sign over the cross in Moclinamaud VII - Federal Defense Union Logistic Support saying "Jesus is the Son of God". Leave the religion(s) of EVE to the vagueness of lore and RP'ing corps and enjoy the game for what it is--the best damn space ship exploderation game ever.

Dude, they created the Amarr. A bunch of zealots ready to burn the universe for their beliefs. I don't think a cross is of much concern.
Also, the crosses were used in the roman empire to execute people. Nothing to do with religion, I'm just sayin'. |

Are you sure you are an Atheist and not an Antitheist, Alex? Because those two things are not the same, no matter how many people fail to see the difference.
And yeah, you are probably just seeing things. Not much different from people who see Jesus on their toast. Though to be fair, i have not seen the station in question, so maybe i'd see the same thing. |

So you're an atheist? If I'm not mistaken that means you don't believe in any god whatsoever. If this is the case, what exactly is religious iconography offending in you?
Do you get offended every time you walk past a church or mosque? If so, you need to seek professional medical attention as you're mental. If not, stop whining. It's not even reality. It's just a game.
I bet assassin's creed really pissed you off.

Is this a target audience troll?
Biblically the cross has quite a lot to dowith Christianity. It is the emblem of the Son of Man lifted uplike the brass snake in the desert by Moses; look at Him and be saved. |

It was only associated with Christianity via Christ's crucifixion at the hands of the Romans, who had been using it against criminals and political enemies for a long time before that. If anything it should be more a symbol of cruelty and oppression than anything religious. While I generally try to avoid religious debates (that always end up as arguments and trollfests), Christianity's symbol should really be the star of David since Christ himself was Jewish. :spoiler:
