we just found a neighbors (unfriendly) pos that had ran out of fuel.

dreads out, lets roll.
imagine the suprise when we actually had to shoot through shields that were not active. can i get some imaginary shields on my ships? ill take some like a pos on my sac.
odd.
armor? yep, armor doesnt go away, but shields? im sorry, but poses should loose all benefits of shields when they run out of fuel. this would be an incintive to keep it up and running, or move it out of the way.
and for those not having a dread in high sec for pos bashing, only having to deal with armor and structure would be a blessing. war deck, park a couple cap stable bs's outside and take a nap.

What you shoot when the POS is active is a force field not a shield.
Ok with taking away the shield as long as it gets 2x armor. |

And why would it suddenly have double armor? He's only proposing that for unfueled POSes and in my oppinion that even makes sense to strip them of their shield. My Condor costs less than that module! |

hmm.. forcefield. i never really thought of it that way. but, honestly, thats what it is. the shield is around the pos itself and the force field is at 25k and keeps everyone out.
make sense.
i still think we need some pos pods to change cpu or pg like on ships.

Poses are broken in so many ways - this is one that annoys me the most.
There is no shield - but there are shield HP? Worse, they have native resists. Worse, there is no fuel. But its like a ship? They have a shield, cap or not, pilot or not. When a ship loses it pilot all active mods stop, so maybe:
One fix: Remove them completely.
Or: Remove resists completely.
Or: Have resists diminish over time.
Or: Heve Shield HP diminish over time, maybe a week.
I like the last, because it would mean WH residents can reserve their moons, and maybe stick in a block every now and then to get shields recharged.
It would also mean moons in hisec need replenishing or they become easy targets. A whole lot tidier.
