After having to wipe my C drive, i downloaded the client again and installed it, as i have done many times before. But even on the login screen, places where there should be writing are covered by either solid lines or just hazy dots. I was wondering what could have possibly caused this? Has anyone else had a similar experience and if so what was the solution? I tried to ask in game, but whatever people suggested i could not read so it seemed futile :(
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Edited by: Quanteeri on 17/01/2006 22:17:16 Yes, I believe I know exactly what you are talking about. Do you have an nvidia GFX card or clone?
I had this problem for about 6-8 months, it also affected my in game display, badly. I'm using a LeadTek 5700Ultra, which otherwise has been a fine product.
Login Screen Deadspace or near Stations
I kept trying to use my manufacturer's crappy drivers, finally, just after RMR, I found the newest ForceWare drivers by Nvidia (not my manufacturer), and pooff, all fixed up.
PS - Sorry, the images are png.

I have an nVidia Geforce 4 MX to the first poster with the pictures mine only affects the text not the graphics of the game.
perhaps because i had to wipe my C drive i have to redownload the new drivers ??The thing is i know that it was running RMR before i had to do the C drive wipe to reinstall windows, so it can do it.
Ps as you can tell by now i know lil to nothing about computers

Something has gone wrong. Try deinstalling and reinstalling the grafic driver. Make sure to install the mainboard drivers first. Install DX9.0c as the last step after installing all other drivers.
If that doesn't help, you might have borked RAM on the grafic card, or the card doesn't sit in the slot correctly.
Good luck!

Edited by: Quanteeri on 17/01/2006 22:26:04 It may or may not be the same problem. Mine was affected differently everytime I booted the game, Sometimesthe graphics would be ok, and the text borked, other times everything was borked. Othertime, everythime was fine, until I got anywhere near a station, or deadspace. Can you even get past the login screen?
And yes, listen to the advise about the mainboard, etc. drivers for a clean installed machine.
Today, you become a (computer) man.
Oh and Tachy, this is for your sig. Ray :) Though I haven't had a chance to add the extra fingers he should have. lol.
