This new novelty item, the "Bucket of Tears," will only be purchasable at the major trade hubs: Jita, Amarr, Dodixie, Hek, and Rens (to avoid lagging someone to death should they ever receive a large number of them) at a relatively-inexpensive price (say, around 100k ISK each).
As stated in the title, this item would be sold at a relatively inexpensive price by NPCGÇÖs, but it cannot be sold to other NPCGÇÖs, cannot be put on contract, and cannot be stored in a ship. They can, however, be given directly to other players: once youGÇÖve purchased a Bucket of Tears, you right-click it in your inventory, and a special context menu option would be available: "Send to Player."
Selecting the Send to Player option would pop up a dialogue asking for the name of the player, as well as the quantity, and confirming the transaction would send this dandy little novelty item straight to the player.
This item would offer two major benefits to the game: firstly, and perhaps most importantly, it would provide a fun little ISK sink, as players wouldnGÇÖt be able to sell them back (only trash them, or forward them along to another person).
Secondly, it would offer an alternative to simply adding a bounty to people who make silly and idiotic whine threads on the forums, because seriously, who DOESNGÇÖT want to fill their hangar with life-giving tears?
Bucket of TearsGÇÖ description: This simple bucket has begun to show signs of rust and wear after many years of service.

Stuff like this usually gets my support. Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

Also, a BPO for tears -> snowballs ... because snowballs
or maybe not ... One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia |

I would support this if it didn't come with all those special restrictions and stuff. That takes extra time to code and develop, which is a waste of developer resources and time. Very little return for the investment of resources, considering it's a novelty item.
If you just want to add a regular novelty item to the game, that won't take but a few minutes to make an icon and some inventory/market entries to the game. THAT, I support. Ch+½j+ì Katrina Oniseki ~ (RDC) Chief Operations Officer ~ [I-RED] Director of Public Relations |

whilst your comment is strangely self reflective it doesn't really have anything to do with the topic.

That's a good point, on the programming. I was thinking about how to make them relatively "difficult" to get rid of, without simply trashing them or giving them to people, but really, receiving one (or many) would be the only real act that is needed.
I'll adjust my post to get rid of the silly restrictions! Ransoms are accepted in Isk, Ships, Mods, and Dolls. |

Yup. That sounds handy. With one little thing:
> Can be carried by a spaceship and dropped in a can. Is small enough not to hog up the cargo bay.
Sometimes you need to hand one out and can't dock at the moment... Is it Hotdrop O'Clock yet? |

Absolutely! Even if can-flipping isn't quite so big, nowdays, I think it would still be quite a bit of fun to drop a bucket and use that can as the flip can.

Utterly pointless item. If I could -1 I would. Tears are harvested in the form of rage filled eve mails. You want free and easy access to buy tears so you can shower them on people like anyone gives a damn. This would simply turn into a way to fill someone hangers with rubbish, in a way they can't block.
Besides, you are EX-TEST. If there's anything we know for sure you are not lacking, it's tears. The Indecisive Noob - A new EVE Fan Blog for news and stuff. |

Hah! Out of the two high-profile corps that you could target and mock, you pick TEST? I was a part of E-UNI, as well, I'll have you know (though admittedly, I joined when they started getting hit with a bunch of wars, then left for FW after getting into a bit of trouble for losing several ****-fit ships... I was new! What did they expect?).
Picking on TEST has always been like picking the low-hanging fruit, except that now, it's more like just picking the stuff off the ground. If you're going to poke fun at me, you have to at least mention the fact that I managed to lose my pod in high-sec while actively at the controls.

This is a wonderful novelty item.
EVE needs more whimsical novelty items... for the sheer whimsy of it.
Internet spaceships may well be serious business, but that doesnt mean we cant have fun while being serious.
Plus the description is fantastic.
