You only need one EVE client. Just log in twice and run two windows on your comp.

I use two computers. My Desktop and my Laptop. It's just too slow otherwise.

just copy the directory C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\ then run the eve.exe from the first a second copy of the directory and you'll have two eve clients running at once. ---- Nifty |

Best to run off of two seperate installs of EVE (though not necessary).
Simply copy the EVE directory to create a second install (no need to actually run the installer twice). It's even better if each install is on a separate hard drive, and better yet if each hard drive is on a separate controller.
RAM is a big plus when multi-accounting, too. --- --- WTB Rare Skill: Yan Jung Technology ---

I've got one install of the client and just click the launch icon twice to run two accounts. Alt-Tab between them.
Also have 2Gb of RAM to allow for the RAM leak.

I can run up to 3 clients on my PC -eve directory copied 2 times, of coz not all on Drive C which will slow down OS considerily. I hear a lot about memory leaks, never had any problem with it.
P4 3.0Ghz, 1GB Ram, SATA HDDs only, Geforce 6800GT 256MB Ram (which will considerably improve everything ;)

I use 2 accounts , 1 eve client/same directory. 1 pc. And it works fine. Ur pc must be pretty speedy tho. But switch off sound else u get eve crash.
And it works fine.

I run 2 accounts off the same client just open eve twice and login I find running them in windows mode is the best way for ease of switching between screens.

I have occasionally run three clients on my system, same harddrive, same folder, same exe - apart from problems with the sound, it all worked fine and at an acceptable speed (3ghz,1gbRam,r3yr-old nVidiaCard) ...

I run 3 accounts from the same Eve install (AMD 1800+, 1gb RAM, 128mb Radeon 9000).
Never had a problem running all 3 at once pre-RMR. Post RMR, it hasn't been quite as easy to run, but still very possible.

Ive been running three accounts for ages now, and this is how i have setup the installation and run the clients.
I have 3 clients installed on the same drive (found no difference placing them on different drives) One client was installed the other two were copy pasted into another directory.
I run all 3 in window mode slightly smaller than my desktop (so i dont lose buttons i.e launch)
In the display settings i have turned of trails - sun occlusion - turret update etc.
I have set all 3 clients CPU priority to low, i have recently heard this can help stability (havent crashed yet but it may do nothing)
The sound has to be turned off on all 3 clients. This is most annoying. As alot of players have more than one client running on the same machine. Yet the problem has not been resolved. Some useful information from CCP would be extremely useful on this matter. Is it a brand of soundcard etc that causes the crash. All i have ever heard from CCP is 'turn the sound off' which obviously helps but isnt a fix. Its been 2 years guys can we expect a fix?
Anyway with a decent enough PC running 2 or 3 clients is do-able and very playable, i use all three to mine - lvl 4 missions - hunt.
You didnt state your internet connection speed though it may become a factor !?!
Hope that helps

I run 2 clients on the same PC (and have done 3) off the same directry. I have 3.4Ghz, 2GRAM, 80G HD, ATI 256 9800 pro vid card. And it all runs fine. I even run with my sound and have no problems. Expect I have to shut one of the clients music off, its annoying when two tunes dont mix well. Sounds like a dieing cat.

I've found that the keys to this are:
1) tons of RAM 2) robust video card 3) turn off the sound (while in game hit the escape key and uncheck "audio enabled" under the Audio tab) 4) on some machines, under the Generic Settings tab turn off "sun is occluded by ships"
5) best to have better than dial-up internet connection
6) run in windowed mode
7) make sure your computer has huge amounts of RAM
8) get lotsa RAM
I have an Intel P4 3.2 GHz with 2 Gigs of RAM and a GeForce 5900 Ultra (256 MB) card running on an ISDN connection at my mountain place, and an AMD 3400 with 2 Gigs of RAM and a GeForce 6800 GT (256 MB)running on a cable connection in my city digs. I can run three accounts simultaneously (using one client load) through either of the machines easily. My buddies and I have tested up to six accounts simultaneously...it starts to get pretty laggy at five and really bogs down at six, though PS...don't even think it...Rest assured I am not macromining. Wouldn't even know how. Those of you that know me know that Dr C sits in the station manufacturing while one or two of the other guys go out and have a little fun
