In EVE, players are primarily responsible for retribution, but in EVE scammers who are easily biomassed and who never have to undock can continue scamming without any real repercussions from players or NPCs. It seems like there should be something that players can do that can punish those they wish to see punished.
Currently, with regards to the scammer, we cannot:
- wardec the offender (as they are often in NPC corps)
- force the scammer to undock to gank them
- discover who their mains are within the bounds of the EULA and the law presuming the scammer is smart
- destroy their supply line to prevent them from having the items to sell/buy as they can often work completely from within the station
I can easily protect myself -- and do -- from scammers, but I have not figured out a way to seek sweet player vengeance. If EVE is PvP, where is the market PvP? I want my sweet, sweet vengeance and I want it now. :)
p.s. also there's got to be a way for me to block alts of scammers. My block list is already huge and it's a pain to maintain it so that I can actually use local in hub systems. |

The lack of ability to retaliate in a game where cause and effect, etc. are a major part of it is annoying.
Personally though scamming doesn't really bother me as most of it is avoidable with a bit of common sense - not a fan of scams where they are impossible to figure out as scams before your bit the first time though doesn't happen so much these days but awhile back game features that were broken or not working as you'd expect allowed people to scam far too easily - especially when the trade window was exploitable (afaik thats since been fixed). |

Right now stations offer perfect protection to scammers in hub systems and even then they're usually they're young alts. A bit of training to get your escrow costs down and some extra funds from pervious efforts and you're golden.
Right now they have the power to force me to do things without my ability to do the same. I have to block them to use chat when they and others are spamming like crazy.
I would suggest that if X people blocked them, then they would be blocked to everyone, but that would be easily abusable by large alliances who would block people they didn't like from chat.
I want the ability to gank scammers and so far I've come up with a blank. |

I just don't use local. In fact, I buy everything through the market window, and if something seems sketch, it probably is. So far I've never been scammed. |
