Yes, that was quite clever, Harry. You're really very dangerous and I'm sure you will bring Goonswarm to its knees shooting pods off the VFK undock. I hope that I am fortunate enough to be the one to deliver Goonswarm's surrender to you personally.
Keep on shooting, Harry! Keep on flying your space ship!

No, Harry is shooting the pods with his space ship guns. He is winning the space ship game. The goons will not win the space ship game because they are in the pods.

Your post wasn't very entertaining considering you come from an alliance based on forum posting. Try harder next time. 4/10. Your post sucks.

In outer space, a space ship is hiding. It is hiding near a space station.
Inside the space ship is a man. The man is waiting. What is he waiting for? He is waiting for a goon.
Suddenly, a space pod comes out of the space station. Inside the pod is a goon. The man in the space ship knows there is a goon in the pod. He knows that this is what he has been waiting for.
The goon says, "Pod express, please!" But the man in the space ship will not let the goon wait for the pod express, whatever that is. He quickly flies his space ship toward the pod. He shoots his space ship's guns at the pod. The pod explodes. The goon that was inside it is dead.
The man returns his space ship to its hiding place near the space station. He waits again.
The man's name is Harry Forever. |

To be not entirely trollish this morning ...
Hisec players can (and do) have great plans for doing something (take "The IDEA" alliance for example -- their goal is apparently to alter where the Metropolis regional market is).
(Sidenote - I fell in with them for several weeks, because old friends (from way back when the bad guys went by the name of "BoB") were in a corp there at the time, and they were under a wardec. I was totally burned out on trying to be a CEO/alliance leader (it sucks, don't do it) so hopped on with them to help in the dec. That was a waste of time, because the corp(s?) making the dec(s?) didn't even show -- I was very disappointed with that (not to mention the ISK wasted on insurance ). )
Anyway, great and lofty goals they might have ... but they were abhorred at my suggestions that they start training even basic skills for cruisers for when things get messy. I mean like to the point where I was getting stuff like "you must be one of those terrible ganker/awoxer/ebil types" (although, those accusations may have arisen out of my suggestions that we control the miners in the constellation with an iron fist).
On the upside, I educated at least 2 pilots of their ranks that a 20m ISK bounty was more a waste of ISK than spending it on ~15 fitted frigates... though that still took forever and a day to make them understand
One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia |

We had a small nullsec invasion from highsec going for a while. Was much fun. But it eventually faded away because: -About half of the people in our chat channel never talked or communicated. Who knows what they were doing. Pretty much like what happens with regular corps. Some percentage are just silent. -Some people joined expecting a fully-organized operation, with a commander issuing orders and directing things. In other words, something like a PVP corp, instead of a collection of autonomous carebear individuals. But forming a corp/command structure was what we wanted to avoid. How's a little wardeccable corp of carebears going to take on a null alliance? It could only work if we stayed loose and "guerilla." -TZ differences split a small group into two smaller groups. Things agreed on by mail were hard to implement, because we were online at different times. -Diverse goals. Some wanted to kill Goon and CFC nullbears, others wanted to make isk doing nullsec anoms and ratting. -Perpetual camps on the chokepoint gates from highsec to nullsec. We could infiltrate through them solo some percentage of the time, but it involved absorbing fairly expensive ship losses. -In my own case, Goons and CFC in null weren't arsehats enough to really hate. Some were pretty funny in Local actually. That took away some of my fanatical urge for violence.
But it was much fun, and it could have worked if more people had shown up. It did prove that null isn't as dangerous as a lot of highsec people think. 39 jumps through null, no problem. One jump into Amamake, dead. |

Khergit Deserters, that's a very good analysis.
More than some minimum SP, more than a resume of KM's, every single recruitment thread will demand VOICE COMMS and a working mic. For some reason, this is by far the hardest thing to get people to do. They'll text, rant on forums, whatever...but are terrified of actually speaking to another human.
More than giant fleet numbers or high end ships- what makes corps/alliances powerful is their ability to work together. Voice comms are not an option in a game like Eve. I have TeamSpeak, Mumble, and Vent all downloaded and ready so I can fleet up with pretty much anybody that isn't shooting me in the face. That also leads to...dread...making friends.
High Sec is obsessed with playing an MMO, solo. Look at all the threads from people that will ask 'how to do this or that solo' on forums but utterly refuse to actually fleet up and possibly learn something useful.
Given that high sec'ers abjectly refuse to even associate with each other, any talk of a uprising is just hot air, and fodder for jokes.

True about the voice comms. That was another issue for us. Comms are a big barrier to many highsec people players. I too, used to fear the voice comms. Because: -I might have a funny voice. (I do, but so does about everybody else in EVE. Isn't that weird?) -Because my wife would laugh at me as an ubernerd. (She did at first, but then we both embraced my inner ubernerd. Also, letting her listen in on a fight and hear how intense and movie-like it was helped). -I didn't want to get to know other MMO players that... intimately. (Turns out you can make it as personal or impersonal as you want. You don't have to talk, but shooting the **** is actually pretty fun). |
