hi, id like to mine in 0.7-05 space and beable to tank the npcs. Im gallente and so I armor tank. Anyways, how can i fit out a iteron 3 so i can sit and mine without getting killed in lower sec space?
Let me add that i was able to passive shild tank npcs in some 0.7 system a few days ago but when i returned they were increasingly harder shooting missles and i had to move on but the same tank isnt effective on the lower spec npcs.

1x Miner II
3x Medium extender II
3x Shield Power Relay
Should be about 35-40 shield/s at max, I assume that would be enough to tank .7, but I don't know.

Badger mk2 use a similar passive setup, except throw on a nos and specific hardners, will be able to run them even with capac recharge raped with the nos. Run it on the npcs.

I expect the point is to be able to leave the iteron mining while doing other stuff, so no NOS since the miner is in the high slot, and hardners need to be turned on which you cant do afk

The Iteron is what started me on the passive tanking road. If you add up all the time I must have spent days afk in it.
I tended to go for high hitpoints so I could warp in get the corp goods and not worry about NPCÆs shooting me to bits before I warped out.

as i understand, perhaps im wrong but the idea to tank is to sustain the damage WHILE recharing the cap at the same time so i wouldnt have to leave the hostile zone..
I used a nos in the 1st instance and it work okay but with armor hardeners on my cap dropped to half before i decided not to risk anymore.

btw the sheild flux coil has a recharge reate of 25% compared to the power relay which is 20%.

ôbtw the sheild flux coil has a recharge reate of 25% compared to the power relay which is 20%.ô ThatÆs true but the flux lowers hitpoints nullifying part of its bonuÆs. Fitting a flux is like boosting you HP regen by 30% then lowering it by 15% or along those lines.

Shield power relays are good, but your Biggest regeneration for shields comes from Shield Hps, Fit as many of the best SHied extenders as possible and perhaps 1 invuln field 2, then in teh lows PDus and if you can then a power relay.
FOr armour tanking you need the best passive resist all module you can find, train the passive tanking skills up as high as you can without gimping your other training objectives, then fit an apropraite armour rep.
I also would recomend moving from an itty 3 to an itty 4 at least, preferbly an Itty 5.
If you cannot use an itty 4 or 5 train for a Badger Mk 2, you can shield tank better than you can armour tank a itty 3.
