As the title says how long would it take to make a scout alt that can survive in null sec (mostly due to not being seen :p) what ship and skills would you guys say I should build for? this alt is a completely clean slate no skills at all and is Minmartar. I understand a cloaked ship would be best but that takes at least a month and was wondering if there was anything I could train for quickly. |

I'm not sure *exactly*, but I think you can do a covert ops pilot in about a month. I just did 1... but I didn't keep track of the time-span.
My thinking is: 1 month or 2.. who cares. What's more important is that you end up with a useful, helpful alt, that might save your main. Train it to scan or light cyno's. Give it some weapons too. |

Thanks for replying it seems ill have to try and get a month of training in but oh well could i ask that someone links some fits for a covert op ships that would make it fast and easy to get in and out of null sec. (Im not expecting to survive well placed gate camps with only a month training but i want to atleast out run the sloppy ones :p |

If you don't have evemon, load it up and start playing with it. It's an awesome EVE-App. Find it somewhere in this forum. Most pilots will look at it daily if they have it.
Go to the cov-ops ship you like, add all to the plan, then go to the cov-ops cloak, add to plan.
add nav skills, cyno skills, missile skills, whatever you like to make your ship better. |

More seriously, this would be a pretty reasonable cheetah fit. The covert cyno has a long training time, and if you don't need/want that you can be in this ship much quicker. There is also a lot of personal preferences for fitting covops depending on what you plan to do with it. (tackle, scan only, plex, whatever)

Seems like Interceptors will be added to the list for the Rubicon expansion Nov 19. Extremely fast, plus bubble immune.
That's only one additional skill to train from Covert Ops. |

T3 for point scout? ... Ok maybe I'm just a cheap bugger but a T3 to run camps first?
Cov Ops or interceptor as the capstone. (rubicon won't change an inty being good for this - it just makes it better). |

Covops/inty or an alpha grade clone alt if you stay local to your base for when he's podded. Zappity's Adventures for a taste of lowsec. |

Also try and stay away from Bling like that Sister probe launcher. Turns a 30Mil KM into a 70-80Mil one and it only adds a small amount of extra strength . With the new scanning upgrades you can just stick a few of those on and be a great scanner with very few skills.
This is what I use to scan and scout, Its cheapish and hard to catch while scanning like a boss. With lvl3-4 skills you can reliably do a double shrink on every scan and with Max and T2 fit I would hazard a guess that you could do a triple shrink.

I have also been known to put Nanos and MWD on a Noob ship to scout (like 50k cost) and it scouts pretty well. Even went through Rancer a few times and lived to tell the tail (bounced off planets ect to avoid smarties).
