Hello there. Something interesting happened to me recently, something which might be of interest to everyone who seeks profit and tears across New Eden. In case we have yet to meet, here is a recent C&P piece about me [
here].
A few nights ago, I decided to cut from Jita down to Amarr in search of delicious war targets. Ordinarily the route is fairly quiet, full of afk freighters and some people camping war targets of their own. Several jumps in, nearly bumped a Machariel who jumped as I landed.
One jump animation later, my screen was suddenly full of Machariel. Like a bifurcated whale dork, it lurched at maximum speed to impale a nearby Nightmare. The result was predictable. Pirate battleship goes zooming off, pursued by pirate battleship, exit grid right.
Intrigued, I followed. The bumps continued.
Almost the moment the ships around gate became a hazy memory and departed from the overview, the Mach stopped. Adrift and alone, the Nightmare stopped as well.
The swarm of Catalysts that landed around us banked gracelessly, then descended on the GÇÿmare like lopsided piranhas. Before I could even lock one (strictly for whoring), it was done. Incursion runner, afk, hunted down like a dog and gutted for his shinies.
Hmmm. Kind of want those shinies. My approach, however, was interrupted by the bulk of a Orca dropping next to me. The deft hands of a ganker moved the loot into it before I get remotely close to scooping range, and with Concord around us recreating the end of a Michael Bay movie it suddenly became quiet on the field.
Their whole assault was quick and professional. After looking at some of the red flashies in local, it seemed to be random corporations, so I convoGÇÖd the Mach pilot to see what was up. He gleefully linked the kill and I was in awe of how much they had gotten with only a few mil in Catalysts to pay for it.
Now, for those of you who have tried BomberGÇÖs Bar, it is a blast. People brought together only for a love of killing. These guys decided to try the same thing GÇô for ganking. ThereGÇÖs a corporation behind it who fully replaces memberGÇÖs security status with tags, but even for a random joiner they will offer a Catalyst and a share of the loot.
I thought it was a really cool idea. Just as BB has made waves on those they visit, it sounds like these guys are starting to make a name for themselves along pipelines. If, like me, you enjoy tears and profit, I strongly advise you check out their channel, GÇÿ
BodyBag GankGÇÖ and talk to some of the people there. While it seems like fleets are still at an ad hoc stage while building up to regularly scheduled events, there is a lot of potential to make something really fun here.
