Hello. I¦m 2 months old to the game and ive just recently bought myself a brutix. I¦m into the whole pirate-thing, it really gets my adrenaline flowing :) The system i usually hunt in has recently become infected with Feroxes, and since im a new player, i dont really don¦t want to engage something i dont know the power off.
Lets say that i meet with a guy in a ferox whos as old as me (2 months), who would "win"?
My setup is:
High: 3x Heavy ions 2x Heavy electrons 2x Medium nos
Med: 10m MWD Webbie Warp disdruptor(20km) And a cap recharger(something +10%)
Low: T1 med armor repairer 2x armor hardners (thermal and kinic) 400m nanofiber plate Magnetic field stabilizer

The setup is generally ok, you might want to change the tank a bit though. If you are facing a missile-ferox, some explosive hardening is probably a good idea. Anyway, be it a missile or a rail ferox, the damage output isn't very high so you don't have to tank a lot. Also, 400mm plate seems a waste of a slot. A cap booster is very nice on a brutix, and you can consider dropping the nos for more guns (as you have a good drone bay and can rely on your high damage to break a tank).
I think i'd use: high: 7 electrons+ions; mid: mwd web scrambler/disruptor med cap booster (400 or 800 charges in injector + hold); low: 2 med rep 2 energized nano 1 mag stab (or 1 nano, 2 mag stab). Drones: infiltrators and maybe a few warriors.
Unless the ferox is using ECM, he should die easily. The ship could be using blasters and it could be a bit more tricky, though his damage shouldn't be impressive anyway.

What DPS do you think you'll be getting from the Brutix with your setup? What DPS do you think the Ferox will be doing?

Don't you blasters users worry about cepters though? I mean, even the neutrons don't really scratch farther than 15km. Electrons about 10 or so right? Are 5 medium drones enough to fend off your average ceptor? Can they track?
Do medium blaster users even need a web to hit an inty once the mwd is turned off at close range? I've never used blasters, much less medium blasters, so I really don't know. If you've got that mwd, what's really gonna get away from you?
I guess with all that armor and mwd you can make it to the gate or station so long as you are mindful not to return fire seeing as they can't come close enough to web. What would you do with that fourth mid if you didn't need a web? Sensor Damper? Tracking Comp? Turret disruptor?

With the dual medium nos any frigate close enough to you is dead as it will have no cap left in a very short time. Plus once webbed it won't last long against the blasters and drones --------------

I would say that tank wont last long against burst damage from a missile ferox, especialy if you leave a huge hole in resists like it has got.

(Have'nt looked at cpu/PG needs, but try fitting..)

Med: 10m MWD Webbie Warp disdruptor(20km) 15% cap Recharger
Low: T1 med armor repairer 3x armor hardners (thermal and kinic and explosive) Cap relay
Apart from a few things your setup is good for a new character. (Maybe try swapping the webber for a cap recharger if you haven't the skills to run the setup without cap problems) Deactivate the neutralizers after a while though.

agreed, 3 hards is a must against any threat, especially caldari/minmatar...

2 months in there is no way your going to compete with the Ferox's you might actually fight(some of them will have quite a bit more than 2 months behind them.)
Although with a decient tank and a warp stab youll probably be able to get away.

if you are having cap problems you have crappy cap skills , or use a 5 blaster 2 nos setup
With no ab or any other means of getting to web range you'll be lucky to get them.

Good tank, good speed, good damage and light drones incase of ceptors/frigs.
Altenatively 7xdual 150mm rails, tracking comp instead of cap injector and a CPR instead of 1 armour rep works nicely against smaller targets.

The following set up I have used alot and had alot of success with, and can almost indefinately tank a raven fitted with cruise, have done on 3 seperate occasions...
Highs - 6 electron II, med nos, Mids - 10 m/n mwd II, web, warp disruptor, cap injecter with 800 sized charges (key part of the set up) Lows - 2 med armour reps, explosive hardner, energised adaptive, damage mod
Drone bay 5 med tech II drones
Ofc you may not be able to use all the tech II gear just replace it with tech I named and you should be good to go, the cap injecter will make the capable of running everything as long as you have charges, can fit something like 7 charges in the hold and 1 in the injecter, if everything including reppers are running hit the injecter when caps low, by the time it reloads cap should be getting low again and inject again.
Had alot of success with this set up, and can tank REALY well, cap injecters for pvp are far better than cap recharge mods :)

Yeah this is true, with ammo and injecter charges you have literaly 0 cargo left, but I very rarely fly it solo, usualy in small groups etc so isnt so much of a problem, if youre pirating in empire can always carry les charges and dock to get more I guess, but agreed this may be problematic if you are solo pirating.
