Ok, I need ISK !!!! So I decided to go SOLO npc hunting in 0.0 as I have access. Now I could go in a Caracal but that means picking VERY well the fights and last time I tryed I ended up warping away from a npc raven (1.250 mil) scared sh!tless.
My next option is a Ferox and I will go for it. The ferox link in the sticky is for lvl3 missions although I saw some nice setups.
Would you fine gentlemen advise on a Ferox setup for 0.0 npcing and perhaps provide some tips ???

mmm...with the lesser spwans you will have no troubles if you fit the rat specific hardners but you will get in trouble dual bs spwans. You need a BS, AF or HAC to do the comfortable.

Unless you have very good skills the dual BS spawns will kill you.
You will also need a very high damage output to break some of their tanks.
Personally, I wouldn't risk it.

I can tank dual bs spawns all day with this setup:
High: 5 heavy launchers 2 med nos
Med: 1x 10mw ab 3x large t2 shield extenders 1x invun field
Low: 3x shield power relays 1x pdu2
You can swap the ab for another hardener for better resists, but you're main problem is going to be dishing out enough damage to take the bs down...

Personally, I wouldn't risk it.
I have mostly level 4s, and have killed nearly every Angel spawn, including a few Domination BS solo in my cyclone. All you need to do is get up close, orbit, and commence the pwnage. ____ Where are all of the cruiser sized faction mods, CCP? |

Get an AF. My bet is that a Harpy can deal with anything except the most difficult spawns. It might take a while to train for it but it's more then worth it.

Edited by: Dark Squall on 07/08/2007 20:33:00 tbh dont bother with Ferox for ratting it cant dish enough dmg to go npc hunting nicely. As in against double/triple bs spawns near the 1mil bounty and up. It would prob work with couple warping out and in...
Get a drake and pwn the NPC's + its get kinetic dmg bonus

i wouldnt recommend a ferox thats for sure. And id only recommend the drake if you are in friendly skies.
Otherwise that AF that was recommended sounds like a better bet. I personally have an enyo i can use to rat anything but dual bs's (and even then i kill what i can warp out, and then warp back in) all with standard antimatter rounds. It may take awhile but its easily done, and this is the lesser of the 2 af's for gallente.
i hate being told that unless im in a bs i cant go out to 0.0 (and i hear that *ALL* the time). Its just a dose of pure stupidity on so many levels. I mean you could actually get a cruiser to work out there as well, and use ecm's (ive seen it done many many times) but everyone assumes you need those huge oversized/overpriced ships that costs an arm and a leg.
I dont mean to personally offend anyone here, but the eve community at large seems to think with a cookie cutter that was only halfway decent to begin with, and more often than not are offensive when the cookie cutter strat isnt followed to the t.
That having been said as long as you remember this: Evasion>tank you'll be good to go. Thats not a bad motto for pvp either heh.

/Seconded!
I've killed all battleships below 900k with a incursus, and anything below 1.25 with a caracal. Speedtank a frig/AF, snipe with cruisers.
Caracal means you can't tackle the biggest and baddest spawns, but its easy to take out what you can kill. Warp in far away and hurl missiles at max range, dont even need a speed mod.
Ferox Can EASILY kill what you're likely to run into with just a standard mission running passive setup, but it does take a while.
But you'll make more money in a Raven or Drake :P *** Thats a Templar, the amarr fighter. Its a combat drone used by carriers. |

that is tru tho. it is usually faster in the bigger ships unfortunately, and sometimes it can take ALOT of rounds to kill some of those bigger rats, but it is still much cheaper a route to go that has advantages of its own.
