The debate between c5 and c6 has raged on in these forums a few times now but with no real answers just people being biased for the hole they live in
Our alliance wants to move holes from our c5-c3 but a debate is raging on our personal forums between c5-c5 and c6-c5 Now effects aside I've been moving for c6 as it feels like the "end game" for wormhole space keep in mind win aren't ready to make the move and CCP may or may not buff upperclass wormholes to get people shuffling around (that's a big maybe)
I've heard everything from "you can't bring an alliance of that size out there and survive" to "c6 space is dead no one really lives out there anymore" to "only go out there if you want to be farmed by huge blobby alliances"
My question is I guess a two part question.
Which class should we choose when the time is right? And Why does everyone seem to hate class 6 wormholes?
Please keep it on topic |

C5>c2 or c5 > c3 but c2 offers bigger chains...
c5>c5 is only if you like doing capital stuff....
c6 space sucks because you roll into each other every day ... (100 systems are rolled pretty fast) sooo you do have a serious amount of big guys knocking on your door trying to get you.
With C5 space you have "Sleeper Escalations" aaaaaaand a chance of 1:500 to be rolled in ... My mind does not reflect my corp ... it just shows you what they care about...

Well we have a c5-c3 already and the pvp is... Dry. We like the capital stuff but we want more. More content I guess would be the case. We started off as my corp in a c2-c3-hs and then moved to a c5-c4 but c4 space is.... Well lets just say people were bored. The c3 lets the little guys solo rat or solo hunt but were steadily developing a culture and we wanna do more things as a group. |

Think it really depends on who you want to roll into and who can roll into you. There are corps who can roll their static every 2 min so there is really no "safe" place. Do a research of who lives in c5-c5 and c6-c6 already. A static c2 gives some long wh chains and static c3 gives lots of null/lowsec but both often gives smaller engagements. Check the killboards of relevant groups who live in the wh you desire already and you get an idea |

I've done a but of research already on the 14 or so c6-c6 groups. The feeling of "safe" isn't that big of deal to us as we enjoy pvp weather we win or lose we've had some really good fights. The c5-c5 seems to have less of a chance if people rolling into you obviously while the c6 is the opposite. It's a tough choice. It really all depends on the c6-c6 guys if they "let" us move up there or not. Ause if they decide to roll as we are moving in its pretty much game over. We had a corp move into our c5 with us and as they were setting up their tower I think it was ssc jumped a dread in and started demanding a ransom for te tower. Compared to other C5> C5 dwellers we are pretty small. But that hasn't stopped us from thoroughly enjoying the encounters we have with the larger groups.
C5> C5 will offer good pvp from both larger groups and smaller via C3/C2 connections. It will also play into the capital farming a good amount considering you can single escalate your static.
Its my opinion that a C6 definitely puts you in a smaller area of wspace overall. |

I like both ideas they both have their benefits and disadvantages. It's a pretty tough call. Most if my guys think c6 space is a horrible scary place with blood union and no ho lurking at every corner and c5-c5 space to be the safe place to go. Maybe we go c5-c5 for a year to six months and see if we like it or not |

Maybe we go c5-c5 for a year to six months and see if we like it or not Depends what you timezone are. We've been in C6-C6 space for the last year or so, and C5-C5 space a year or so before that.
Sadly I feel much safer in C6 space now than I do in any other class of wormhole.
Based on my personal experience, C6 space is better logistically. A fair amount of C6's have static 1's, 2's, and 3's so trying to get to where ever it is you want to go that day is relatively easy.
We also are primarily US TZ so we very rarely run into the other more active Euro or Russian groups. Either they'd stupidly outnumber us in their timezone or vice versa in our timezone.
Evictions in C6 space are more about personal grudges than anything else, well that and the occasional merc contract.
Isk generation is roughly equal in C5 or C6 minus the slightly higher chance of better gas sites, etc. The benefit to C6 space is that there are a fair bit of farmers so the sites circulate a lot more often through you home system.
The thing I hated about C5's was the god damned superhighway. Going 5 or 6 C5's deep to find a C3 or C2 was irritating beyond belief. |

Which class should we choose when the time is right?
C5 or C6 - it doesn't matter. As your a pvp corp, other pvp corps want you to move into either class of wh space. Most of the time as a general loose "rule", pvp corps don't want to kick out other pvp corps because otherwise who would there be left to fight? Give a good fight, kill some ****, lose some ****, and have a laugh with the people you fight! Or smack talk in local and create another "Biggest wh fight in eve history" type of thing
You will get blobbed in C6's and you will get blobbed in C5's. Hell you will get blobbed no matter where in eve you go! You will run into both C6 and C5 entities whether you live in a C5 or C6 space. You stand an equal chance of being invaded in either wh class, don't think that C5's are safer than C6's, no single wh alliance i know of has hole control 24/7, invaders will always move in when your at your weakest TZ or offline completely.
Why does everyone seem to hate class 6 wormholes?
Because they have no balls? Afraid of being ganked? haha i don't know man. probably because there are more C5's, more variation, think there is "less chance of being invaded" or whatever. If someone wants to invade you, gank your pve fleet, or put a covert ops in your hole and chat to you in local - they will do it regardless of wh class.
Also confirming NoHo is lurking around every corner! Naa seriously chat us up when you run into us and have some fun!
I hope you come and join us in C5 / C6 space soon! Cosmic Scanner / muu lufragga |

The endless c4-4-4-4-4-5-5-5-4-4-3 chains is the reason we got rid of our c5-4 magnetar I'd like to find another magnetar hole again but slim pickings are slim pickings. The c6 sounds fun it's the top of the mountain in wormhole space and I'm not going back to empire ever again so I want to find a place where we can retire and live out our days with pew and farming. I don't have fears of being evicted as we fight. Out numbered or otherwise. (I hear stories of farmers being evicted because they cause a lack of content) as for merc contracts I don't expect us to be target because we remain respectful and don't smack talk ever. We get trolly but who doesn't. I wouldn't mind getting to know the c6-c6 groups as we an field a decent fleet (except for a Deimos fleet once upon a time) but I have time to decide I just want it to be the last move we make |

If youre looking for pvp, then the trouble with C6 space is that there is pretty much grand total of one active pvp group willing to engage. C5 space is a bit more varied, with more active groups looking for fights (albeit distributed among larger number of systems).
In the end, you will have access to both classes, because they keep connecting into each other. But I would personally recommend C5. W-Space Realtor |

If your in russia timezone wise, go for the c5 c5, otherwise you will see a lot empty 10 man farming corp towers. If russian TZ is your thing you might actually catch a few of those buggers, befor they pos up and log off once they see that a new sig is spawned. Thank you CCP for automatically showing those |

C6 space is much safer than C5s. theres....1? C6-C6 group left that actually rolls often and thats NOHO. I cant remember that last time someone besides NOHO connected to us in our C6.
Both C5 and C6 space are also plagued by farming corps, so thats fairly the same, income is as stated relatively equal. We seem to gt roaming high/low/nulls right off our C6 more often than we ever did in C6 space so i would say thats a plus, but with a static c5 you can still run into long chains of annoying c5s, but when you do its easier to close your static and try again than it is with a C3.
Winter borne put the current state of PVP well, people either run into us when they're outnumbering us greatly, or we do when we outnumber them, US TZ corps of any good size are rare these days. The Wormhole Kid |

I think I wanna go c6- I love the idea of beig out there and being able to pvp with the Guys out there. I'm not happy dropping on ratters in c3's or killing Russian tengus in c4's and I hate c2 space for personal reasons. All that's left is a c5 or c6 static. The c5 super hi way kinda irks me and reminds me of c5-c4 life maybe going for a c6 static might fun? But again finding a hole worth living in is the issue. I've always kept tabs on a few holes that I've always enjoyed seeing the action in. And nova was one of the with AHARM gone who lives there now? |

This is a really great back and forth from some of the great pvp'ers in w-space. I do love it when a community comes together like this, if only to increase the number available targets. There are some really great aspects to almost any wormhole but i have always viewed C6's as the canvas of truly epic fights. I would think it would also give you the freedom (isk wise) to experiment and challenge what are now the go-to pvp fits in wormholes. But seriously Blood-Union and NOHO are scary dudes. You'd have my app at least if you decide to go for it. Cheers |

I think we've decided c6-c6 I know I'm going and taking the best with me and the rest an catch up over time as they feel confident. This thread has been amazing and a very good eye opener. It's really not often that I see the community of wormholers come together with out a thread turning into a big joke. I'm pleased that it came this far we have every intention of pvp'ing with every c6 entity we can as it teaches us what we need to learn through fire. Who knows maybe our determination and attitudes will win us some favor with some of the big dogs. I can't wait to get there. |

There is no real advantage to living in a C6. The main drawback is that it is easy for people with a C6 static to find and invade you.
I believe there are more people living in C5 space as opposed to c6 space, so if pvp is what you are interested in, a C5>C5 is the hole for you. +1 |

We always welcome more pvp focused people to wormhole's =)
No idea of your size, but we run gangs of between 10-30 depending on timezone, what's been happening already that day and how long formup takes.
Disclaimer gang might be larger if we have some sort of planned op up, but then we tend to give people a heads up, unless the entity is known for running larger gangs themselves.

Your C3 and C4 statics haven't been necessarily PvP-centric: as you've found, you bump into mostly farmers. A C2 static would be better for PvP ... and there are a couple of C2 corps and alliances that would likely welcome your presence. C2 holes also have guaranteed k-space connections, so your solo player or small-group could nip out to empire and go shallow diving for targets as well.
You don't have to live in a C2, but the targets are many when flying through them. |
