Just to clarify one point: It has been stated repeatedly in this thread that the sale of ISK for RL money via GTC is different than a direct sale because CCP benefits. However, the net benefit to CCP is small or nonexistent. Since it is illogical that anyone would buy timecards and sit on them, we can assume that anyone who buys a GTC with ISK uses it, and thus avoids paying via other subscription plans. So, net effect to CCP is basically nil. In-game effect is only to re-distribute ISK from one player to another.

My point is that RL means are used to gain an advantage in-game. If I spend $20, I can get 270M ISK from a player that probably can more than afford it.
If I spend $200, I get 2.7B ISK. Not bad for a starting player. How about that full head of +4 implants? I'll get that HAC in no time, plus be able to fit in all t2.
Lose the implants? The skillpoints still remain. And I can just buy more GTCs if I need more ISK.
That's my problem.

"Anyone found selling items through Ebay or other similar auction sites faces an instant and permanent ban from the game. This ban will apply to all accounts traced to that user. Users supplying ISK to salesmen will also receive permanent bans. "
The problem with this statement is that you've banned people who didn't actually KNOW they were working with an Ebayer. As far as they were concerned they were just dealing with another player. Not even so much as a slap on the wrist and a monthly suspension, no you guys went for the full blown bannage. While I completely agree that cheating and ebaying needs to be brought under control you guys are heavy handed with it in some cases and are afraid to admit wrongful calls in order to save face.
Good luck with keeping the real cheaters at bay in the future. Just be mindful that there ARE innocents getting taken out in the process. Peace.
The end is extremely f'ing nigh. |

Well I'd like to comment on this one, as I can't stand reading it over and over again any longer: "Paying for the time spend..." is absolute and utter nonsense. You pay for a product, period. For God's sake, you can't tell me anybody gives a damn about how that product was achieved, whether the seller spend one year or two years. And as such you pay for the outcome. You pay for something and it's in no way a service. Or why would somebody advertise a "35m SP character" instead of a "2 years playtime character" ? Even then it would be about a character, not the invested time. Letting somebody else play your character for some time - that would be a service and payment for time spend..
So come on, the bottom line is: don't pretend it to be something it isn't It's all the work of an equivocator trying to get around some EULA.
Ah, and Naevius, very nice argumentation.

That's nonsense. Almost all T2 BPs have already been seeded. Well, in some way, yes, chances are the same as for everybody else who joins now - impossibly small to non existent..
