I've been a mission runner for a long, long time. But mission running is getting every time more boring, so I'm thinking about starting doing other things to earn ISK. Right now I'm thinking about start running anomalies in high sec (0.5 or 0.6 systems since I don't want to go to null sec or low sec) or join incursions.
How are this 2 option compared to mission running in the amonut off isk that can be made. Also are they easier/harder than L4 missions? Any guidance in this 2 new possible careers is welcome since I know nothing about them.
Thanks. |

They both can be fun and profitable. The rest is up to you. If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there. |

I don't... do... incursions. The politics of the whole thing makes me a little insane even from a distance. So I'm not the best qualified to answer how easy it is. By all accounts the income is superlative though.
As for high sec exploration: it can be highly profitable but the income isn't predictable. Setting a nice, neat isk per hour number isn't even really possible given the massive variation and the streakiness of the whole thing. I can tell you that I undoubtedly make more in low sec exploration than I ever made on missions.
High sec carries its own challenges though: people can and will steal the loot from the site you just cleared if you're not fast enough. It's a highly competitive game, especially in Caldari space. But the whole reason for that is that it can be wildly lucrative: a single invuln/shield booster drop can just about plex your account for the month.
Other space is less competitive but the top end rewards aren't quite as good. If I were you, I'd start in either Serpentis or Angel space. Well, actually, if I were you I'd go to low sec. But barring that.... |

They call em iskursions for a reason. You can make 100m+ per hour. |

High-sec incursion typically pays around 60-120mil/hr (excluding the Concord LPs) of active fleet time, depending on the quality of fleet and sites. Time unaccounted for are the idle periods waiting for fleets to form and the shipping logistics (moving one or multiple ships) within the four empires where incursions are spawned - these two vary greatly from person to person and time of day. Full time, hardcore incursion runners or metagamers with 2-10 chars through ISBoxing can easily make at minimum, 1 billion isk/day or even more with the latter, within a 12 hr period on a good day.
There's a lot politics involved with different groups pissing on each other, the normal kindergarten stuffs. These are easy to avoid or ignore, it's a non-issue. The problem however, when there's a catfight in the house, it tends to burn the house down - totally. This translate into two outcomes : occasional 24-48hr dry period where there no high-sec incursion spawn because all has been taken down OR a very short-lived spawn that forces you spend to do a lot shipping logistics ... again.
Regular incursion runners have a nomadic lifestyle. If you don't fancy doing this, then stick to missioning. - Having an Orca or freighter alt helps. - Having positive standings for all empires will avoid accidental death from empire navies. - Having T2 gun skills will greatly improve your chances of getting into a fleet. - Having both L5 Logistic skill and being able to fly T2 logistic ships as a secondary skillset will further improve your desirability. Fleets like pilots who can swap dps/logi on demand. - Running regularly, will help in getting your name recognized. Try not to pilot half-assedly. Incursion veterans can tell your performance at a glance. Fleet invites may come without you needing to ask or beg.
One last thing, do more background reading and research regarding incursions if you decide to jump in - particularly the NPC differences and ship fit styles.

If you are not lonely ranger type of person then incursions are the most fun PvE activity you'll find in all MMOs. In fact incursions are the only reason why I still play EVE instead of quitting ~2 years ago.
If you'll find it difficult to get into fleet due to overflow of players and long queues in certain communities - try different community. |

You should try null sec anoms. Use wormholes to get there. I ran two today, 6/10 Guristas, used Ishtar and got 19th OE, Pith A-type Med Booster and Pith A-Type RSR. 900 mill for about 20 minutes. Then did 7/10 Guristas 20 Tier OE and Pith B-Type Boost Amp and Pith A-Type Thermic Hardner. 30 mins 250m I think. Add bounties its pretty insane easy Isks. Just need cloak and prober alt scout and very safe.
Scariest thing about it is getting it through high sec without getting ganked. |

The biggest difference is really a question of probability. You can get billion-plus drops running null anoms, but you could also get junk drops. Or get caught and popped. So the income level can be really high...or not.
Incursions are fairly regular income but, as has been mentioned, politics and silliness can get in the way. It's also possible that there won't be any active incursions that you can get to when you want to run them. But when you do run them you can basically count on between 60 and 100 million an hour or so.
So why not do both? Get a jump clone down into npc null with a scan ship and site-runner. And get yourself a high-dps battleship or logi and go run some incursions in high sec.
Personally, I really don't like limiting myself to any one activity in EVE. It's too big a game for that. |

Bearing in mind I've done 5 x 6/10s and I have a total of 720m loot, and the sig has spawned naturally 2x per month in my system.. ie you need to have a pretty wide range to find them "on demand".
