Hi , My ALT is training Industry and Mining related skills. I have PE and Industry Maxed, Mass production at 3. REst of my skills are on Mining and Refining.
There are skills like frigate construction. Does this reduce the actual material cost when constructing a frigate or these skills are just used for inventions ?? Can you please help ?
What are the skills necessary for Reducing the material cost apart from PE. ?
- Thanks, Bala. |

While I am not in any way an industry character (I have no industry based skills whatsoever) I could not tell you what skills will help that.
However what I can do is point you to the market in game.
Open the market > click the "show all available items" (or to that end if it's not called that) in the bottom left of the market window > click skills > click industry (or whatever skills you're looking at) > click the 'i' next to the name.
In the description, attribute and other tabs, it tells you exactly what all skills do, and by how much (if applicable) they do it by.
From that screen, you can find out all the skills that you would need for a specific role. Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person." |

Frigate / Battleship / Industrial Construction are used for T2 only. Cruiser Construction is used for T2 and T3. Capital Construction is used for capital components, capitals, and fighters / bombers.

EDIT: The bit on Industrials is outdated, though the Bestower is still top of the heap. |

None, PE is it. However, these skills help:
- Laboratory Operation (it's probably called something else) to get more research slots. ME research on a BPO will reduce its material wastage. - Supply Chain Management to be able to set up jobs from farther away (e.g. L1 lets you be undocked) - Scientific Networking to be able to set up research from farther away (e.g. L1 lets you be undocked)
Note that for the "remote" skills, the BPO (and any items - mins, datacores, whatever) need to be where you're performing the research or production. AFAIK, the only exception to this is that you can leave BPOs in a station corp hangar, and research (or build from) them at mobile labs (assembly arrays for production) that are anchored at a POS in the same system. One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia |
