My setup that I got now
Highs-250mm T2 x3, named missile launcher Meds-named AB, 20km scram, named small shield extender, small T2 sheild booster Lows- T2 Gyro, Nano, Cap Relay
Didn't have enough pg/for a medium extender...but I have yet to train AWU to lvl5 and whatnot....Just orbit at 15km, use arts to blast things that can't get into Nos/web range. Helps to have good tracking skills.

That's what I'm running now, and it's really nice. You stay out of web/nos range and you can easily warp out if you keep out of their scram range. Also, if you warp onto them, and they got drones, you got a few seconds before they get to you, so you can pop them. You can stay out of scram range, if you wanna just stay in your optimal and not scram them. Anything with a MWD is a problem though.

My Assault dueling setup. Works great against most other AFs, not well at all against ishkurs, and it will have some issues against hawks with fof missiles.
3 x 280 arts 1 x arby light
1 x AB 2 x sensor dampner T2 1 x 20km warp scramb (or another sensor dampner or a target painter or cap recharger)
1 x Cap Relay 1 x Gyro T2 1 x tracking mod
No point in tanking when they cannot lock you. Since its the fastest AF in-gate, you can dictate range, just set range for 15kms and fire away, eventualy they will ran out of cap. If you see a ishkur, use dampners and warp out.... those drones will eat you alive....

Buy a wolf and fit a sensor damp + AB/mwd. Does the job your forcing your poor jag to do 10x better, plus the bonuses mean and ishkur will die in under 20 seconds, drones or not (with AF skill maxed and some T2 guns + skills, you'll do about 800 damage per cycle).

What do you think about for mission running? 150mm Light AutoCannon 150mm Light AutoCannon 150mm Light AutoCannon Rocket Launcher
1MN Afterburner Medium Shield Extender Small Shield Extender
Gyrostabilizer Tracking Enhancer Shield Power Relay
For PvP? Drop Rocket Launcher for Small Nosferatu Small Shield Extender for a Stasis Webifier
I can fit it all with mostly lvl II's

I've just got a Jaguar, Minimatar is my second race AF, Gallente is my first. Here's what I managed to fit last night for belt ratting and general messing around:
High: 3x 150m II w/Barrage or EMP, Malkuth Std Missile Mid: AB II, Fleeting 7.5k scram, Langour Web, Regolith Med extender Lows: Pseudoelectron DC, 2x Gyro II
I had to use Malkuth, Fleeting, Pseudoelectron and Langour because those are the lowest CPU versions of those mods, and nothing else would fit (I have 0.5 TF leftover). CPU is very tight on this ship, even with WU5 and Electronics 5. It's a pretty neat ship, but I think I will like the Wolf better.
If I were to try fitting Arty on this, I think I would use sensor damp and tracking comp in the mids, and stay way out of web and scram range. I would also try a 3rd Gyro in the lows.

I have mine setup to tank well without sacrificing significant dps. The fitting is insanely tight, requiring Electronics 5, Advanced Weapon Upgrades up a few levels as well. You'll walk out with 0.1 grid and 3.75 CPU remaining.
Jaguar
200mm AutoCannon II [90xBarrage S] 200mm AutoCannon II [90xBarrage S] 200mm AutoCannon II [90xBarrage S] 'Malkuth' Rocket Launcher I [30xFoxfire Rocket]
1MN MicroWarpdrive I Small Shield Booster II Medium F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction Fleeting Progressive Warp Scrambler I
Power Diagnostic System I Power Diagnostic System I Named Gyro(or any mod of your choice)
1595 shield, 11.66/s, E/T/K/Ex=75/60/40/60 487 armor, E/T/K/Ex=92/67/25/10 162.24 cap, +3.64/s, -14.81/s 1885.0 m/s 71.1 DPS
I believe the ship might be susceptible to nos from larger targets. To fit that, I'd consider an MAPC in exchange for one of the PDU's... like so
Jaguar
200mm AutoCannon II [90xBarrage S] 200mm AutoCannon II [90xBarrage S] 200mm AutoCannon II [90xBarrage S] Small Nosferatu I

Something's wrong there. You shouldn't have any trouble fitting that at all. The only time I run into problems is when I want a MWD or NOS, and I don't have WU5 yet. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Hi all,
what do you think about this
3x 200mm II 1x rocket launcher
1x REgolith med shield ext 1x Gist A AB (speed of around 860m/s) 1x Dom Inv Field (16 cap use to give a prot of 82 70 55 70) 1x X5 WEb
1x shield flux coil 1x PDU II 1x inertia stab or another PDU II
Quite expensive set up but i manage to tackle 3 BC in 0.1 without having the shield to go lower than 60%
In pvp don't know, any NOS will teach me a new concept of pain. Send your comments please.

this ship run out of cap fast. But dayum it can own in close range. Plus 150's have great tracking so hitting Intys is not a issue. Hitting pods not a issue.
Getting nosed is a big issue. but u have the speed to turn and burn. (unless your webbed) then your skrued

Anyone has a good artillery jag proved in combat?
I was thinking of something like:
3x 250 mm II
AB Cold gas Passive shield kin hardener (F-S8) Med shield extender (F-S9) Faint Warp Prohibitor
2x Gyro stab II MAPC
Having AWU4, to bad can't fit a missile launcher as well. Would have to loose the tank if I did.
Have been using a ac jag but would like to try something else

Hi guys,
I've flown this jaguar for lvl 1-3 missions. Handles lvl 3 missions perfectly fine with autocannons and a rocket launcher. I use a passive shield tank,
This gives u a faboulus 2691 in shield and a recharge rate of 216. I can still improve things with better rechargers, expencive, but I guess I can get recharge down to below 200 sec, which is awesome on almost 2700 shield. My shield recharge per sec is 12.5. A shield booster has trouble keeping track of that.
3x 150mm light autos II 1x rocket launcher, best u can get
AB II Shield Recharger OR shield hardener OR warp jam depending on what u do. 2x Medium Shield Ext II
2x Shield Power Relay 1x MAPC
If you do complexes, then put on a shield hardener depending on faction of complex. If you do NPC's in belts or missions with not so many npc's then ur better off with a better shield recharger in mid slot. If you are pvp'ing then put on a 2x strength warp jammer.
I must say, the most reliable AF I have flown, my other char flies gallente, and they cant keep track of the tank this small frig can do.

Bermag: See my setup, so far it kills ceptors 2v1 pretty damn easily, and I think it does enough damage to threaten any frigate or destroyer out there. For cruisers you will of course need a tackler.

hell of an expensive jaguar for all lvl3 missions and some lvl4:
3x 200 AC II 1x some kind of rocket launcher
1x gistii a sb 1x gistii a ab 1x domination sb amp 1x dread gurista passive shield emp thingy according to enemies 3x domination gyrostabilizer (love those 20cpu for a gyro)
throws out somewhere around 320 raw dmg at critical with the evil t2 ammo. alas, the optimal bonus gets a lil lost with autocannons, but hey... with that kick-butt shieldbooster, an sb amplifier is just evil ^^ and since you need the speed, the wolf just has to few med slots. if you're sure, your tank holds, 'convert' that fitting to a wolf for heck more damage and a more-than-cute falloff bonus

Most of these fitting in here won't even fit.
For nice tank and good damage:
3X 150II AC (barrage) 1X abalest rocket launcher
1X med extender II 1X med regolith extender 1X fleeting warp scrambler 1X MWD II (or just named T1)
2X MAPC (you need 2 of these to fit 2 med extenders) 1X gyroII
This is great in PvP can exchange scramble and MWD for ABII and web or hardener or booster for level 3 missions. Some level 3s with lots of webbers or spawns that are close together (massive attack) you can't do. Most are easy. 150s have great tracking so a web generally isn't needed in PvP unless fighting ints

Personally, i fly:
3x 150mm t2 AC (Barrage with EMP in cargo) 1x Arbi Rocket Launcher (Gremlin with Thorn in cargo)
1x Named MWD 1x Scram 1x Web/Scram/Tracking Disruptor (Small Shield Extender II with AWU trained up...?) 1x Med Shield Extender (T2 if you've skills)
2x Shield Power Relay 1x Gyro (T2 if you've skills)
works quite well, and a few of my friends have been using the same fit with success.

Just tried out this passive tank and it worked very well. Thoughts plz?
3- 200mm AC II's, Small Knave nos AB II, 20km scram (or 7.5km), web, named med. shield extender Gyro II, 2 pdu II
over 5x damage mod on the AC's with a stupid ROF (something like 1.4 seconds) almost 1800 shields with a 350 second recharge time and very good base resistances. I use a 20km scram mostly b/c the AB requires me to get them scrammed faster. Other wise I fit a 7500m scram and sub the nos out for a rocket launcher. Alts rule the bizzy. |

Hi, i really do feel the love for this little ship i'm trying to force myself to skill something else, but at the end i always end up powering up the skills to maximise my little jag.
Put your teeth in this set up and let me know what you think
3 150 teh 2 1 rocket launcher tech 2
1 giist A MWD 1 Warp scrambler 1 med shield ext II 1 Dom inv field
2 PDU (for extra everything) 1 Gyro II
Now here comes the question: is it worth having the Gyro 2 and the inv field when you pvp? i could swap them for a small shield ext 2 (the setup would be much like ziggy one) and a shield relay. Is the loss of damage bonus that relevant with small autocannons, compared to the increase defense?
Thanks for reading and for replying (eventually). And btw, if you think i'm a noob, than you are probably right. lol

Edited by: Nemsis2481 on 21/11/2006 13:56:45 I have been field testing both the Jag and the Wolf and I love the Jags sheild tank capability. Here's my mission setup.
3x 200mm T2 Autos 1x Arbalest RL
1x ABII, 1x Medium ExtenderII 2x Passive Resists Amp II (Exp/Kin)
x3 Sheild Power Relays
Easily handles level 2 missions and makes excellent assist ship for level 3 missions. Not cap strapped. I tried substituting one of the sheild power relays for a gyro II and it still was a vialble sheild tank. I swap that mod depending on if i need more defence or offence. Great against all damage types.
I'm still fairly new to the game and very new to posting so can someone tell me what Pve stands for (I assume it means missions as opposed to Pvp)

Um, are you sure you're rich enough to be PvPing with faction modules on a frigate?
Personally, I don't like the invuln setups because of the cap use. I'd prefer a web usually. I have been reading this thread multiple times the last couple of days and i came up with these setups.
PVE: 'Malkuth' Rocket Launcher I [30xFoxfire Rocket] 3x 150mm Light AutoCannon II [80xBarrage S]
Medium Shield Extender II 1MN Afterburner II Kinetic Deflection Amplifier II Heat Dissipation Amplifier II (or a webber)
2x Beta Reactor Control: Shield Power Relay I Gyrostabilizer II
1683 shield, 16.44/s, E/T/K/Ex=75/75/67/60 487 armor, E/T/K/Ex=92/67/25/10 240.0 cap, +2.53/s, -1.1/s 793.65 m/s 72.3 DPS
Decent DPS and good passive tank (against Serpentis atm). Can run AB (and webber) all day long.
PVP: Small 'Knave' I Energy Drain 3x 150mm Light AutoCannon II [80xBarrage S]
X5 Prototype I Engine Enervator 1MN Afterburner II J5 Prototype Warp Inhibitor I Medium Shield Extender II
2x Beta Reactor Control: Shield Power Relay I Gyrostabilizer II
1683 shield, 16.44/s, E/T/K/Ex=75/60/40/60 487 armor, E/T/K/Ex=92/67/25/10 240.0 cap, +2.53/s, -5.69/s 793.65 m/s 65.6 DPS
I am still unsure if i should fit a MWD for PVP. I personally dont like them because of the cap penalty. Do you use them only for a fast approach or activate it once in a while if the situation calls for it? Although fitting a MWD would need a bit of different setup in the Lows to make it fit.
