just found a dusty tengu hull in one of my station's barebone hull no modules or anything fitted, could anyone suggest a cheap t2 mission fit i prefer range so HML would be good. is it still worth fitting or am i better off upgrading to another ship? i already have a CNR and find that rather slow and boring. as for weapon systems my missile skills maxed apart from citadel stuff and i am now concentrating on gunnery skills they are all at the lvl 3-4 stage

I know you said you prefer HML for range, but HAM fits can have more range than Fury HMLs when using Javelin HAMs and range rigs (74km vs 70km) for a minor loss in dps, but Javelin HAMs apply damage better than Fury HMLs even without any rigors/flares. Once you close distance to 40km, you can switch to Rage HAMs for a huge increase in dps (886dps with a T2 fit) and annihilate all the Battleships really quick. I've run both fits extensively and I much prefer the HAM fit and I've timed quite a few missions and the HAM fit comes up on top on almost all the missions as you'll find that in a Tengu most of your time is spent killing NPC Battleships because it doesn't have as much dps as even a regular T1 BS.
However you do lose out on the ability to shoot to 90km with faction missiles that the HML fits can achieve, but honestly the Tengu is fast enough and this range doesn't come into play often enough to make HML fits better.
Here's a cheap T2 HAM that I used, the only non T2 module is the booster which is around 100million but it's well worth the cost.

if you think a cnr is slow and boring, well the tengu is even slower and more boring for most missions. well technically the tengu's velocity is greater than the cnrs and some people find that "fun" but I'd rather complete most missions faster. You can trust me, I have a monocole |

If completing missions as fast as possible both the Tengu and CNR are poor choices IMHO. I find the Tengu to be "fun" to fly also. CNR is a great ship for Incursions IMHO but not so much missions compared to what else is out there.
I do however find the Tengu to be good in that it has average mission completion times across the board, making it a good choice for accepting every mission in lieu of cherry picking. I like it a lot for amassing Caldari LP. Eve is Real |

If you just want to complete missions as fast as possible its hard to beat a properly fit and flown Mach. However the sentry Dominix can also do quite a bit of DPS and apply it very well on a much smaller budget. Also the Mach will probably be nerfed in some way when the pirate hulls come up for re-balancing at some point.
If you really want to get crazy about it have 3 or 4 different ships each optimized for certain missions or certain types of missions/rats. |

the great thing about a mach is you apply DPS constantly, as you position within the mission. And you can easily break 600m/s with just an afterburner, so you're not hurting your cap with a MWD or restricting yourself with a MJD.
The nice thing about a tengu is that it cruises around at 600m/s and doesn't give a **** about mission DPS because it has both an insane speed tank and an insane raw tank. Just make sure to have plenty of rigors/flares.
Sentry ships are awesome but sentry battleships are not very mobile unless you fit a MJD and a second prop mod, and that can make your fit feel a bit awkward. Fighting is Magic |

Right now RS or TFI with good SP. Post Rubicon MJD Torp Golem that jumps INTO the mission instead of far away and sniping. That's for Caldari space assuming you fight Guristas often. Its too hard to fit the ECCM on the RNI IMHO. I would honestly just roll with the Tengu and wait. It's one of my mission ships and as good as a vanilla battleship at making money. I don't blitz much, but when I do its in the Tengu. Then when Rubicon comes out start looking at the torp Golem fits. They will have 1200+ DPS and use the same skills as the RNI. EWAR immunity will make mission running in Caldari space a breeze. The tank will be more than enough, and the MJD will allow you to jump into range and start the BBQ.
