So I managed to watch the full thing last night and one thing perked me up in an otherwise 'meh' talk. The marketing guy said in regards to Dust 514 and Valkyrie, "Shouldn't I be able to play those games on the same platform that EVE Online is on? Will I have the opportunity to play Dust 514 on something other than a Playstation 3 ... Will you be able to play it on other platforms. The answer is yes."
Seems pretty clear to me!

So... did the marketing guy screw up and let something slip that he wasn't supposed to yet, or was he wrong. This one needs Dev clarification methinks. <3 Gothie |

While normally I wouldn't care for a port to PC, this time it's different. A PC client would more or less kill the console client. Why? Go check out what happened to every shooter game that tried to put console players and PC players together.
There is also the problem where hacking PC games is much much easier, and when you have a battle over sovereignty in EVE, you just know someone will try and bring in cheats into Dust to try and destroy everything. In EVE cheats aren't a thing, the game aims for you. In Dust, it's a huge can of worms.
Lastly, the whole point of Dust 514 was to attract the console crowd into the EVE universe. That's kind of shooting themselves in the foot if they bring in a PC client. Lolwut: "Yes, you kids don't know how lucky you have it. These days noobs get given free tackle ships for PvP but back in the old days the only tackle ships we were given were our pods. We had to use them to bump their rookie ships out of alignment to stop them warping off." |

Well given the extremely low Dust player count, I'd say they're failing miserably at that job since most Dust players are EVE folk with PS3's. <3 Gothie |
