Honestly i don't care who "Wis" is, neither what he does in real life, lol! He might be a good or bad guy/player, i don't really care. Give it a break.
We just had some fun, that's all!

Nice article. Paints a full picture. Although, I wish the author had contacted me while doing his fact-finding.
I didn't neglect to leave the stargate out when I cropped the image. Anyone could use a locator agent. If I really cared about concealing The Wis' identity or location, i would've cropped everything but the Macks.
It was my intention to produce it as intel, a means of public discussion, and--for the few--as the incentive to action. For the sake of discussion, I have not advocated my feelings on the matter.
However, the type of intel I gave is pretty indicative about my intentions--and thus my feelings on the matter. Nothing is free of bias.
And yet, The Wis was more than capable of seeing this public discussion and readjusting his play-style based on the recent attention he was getting. The fact that he did not means he doesn't place great value on public intel--to his detriment.
Now that the value is 15B, perhaps he will reconsider that. Perhaps not.
But it was not human stupidity that led to where we now stand.

They are mining Ice. You don't get a discount on PLEX for having multiple accounts so its quite obvious that they are spending vast quantities of time compared to almost any other profession in Eve. 62 billion a month. For the 70 hours they are spending paying for the PLEX I could run missions and buy 2 dreadnaughts and a PLEX.

and in regards to the article--how was any of this stupid? The fact that Wis had 50 macs mining? The fact that he lost those ships that he undoubtedly can replace 20x over? The mere fact that he got ganked? The Fact that he has a 15:1 loss ratio on these miner's killboards? Oooh, that's scary for him. It's a shame that he probably doesn't have a PVP fleet that is made up of entirely separate characters.
Wis does what he enjoys, the gankers did what they enjoyed. So now Wis has a setback of a half hour to refit the ships, and then he's back out there, mining his happy little ass off. Hell, we get fireworks and schadenfreude, so even WE win. And we weren't even there!
This is like the definitive "Everyone Wins" scenario. |

altho im sure for a computer set up he prolly has a horse shoe style set up of about maybe 6-8 comps with 3 screens each Lets do some math here. I will assume your numbers are correct. I will add one more assumption that he has 2 systems to mine in. Clearing an ice anomaly: 20 minutes. Clearing ice anomalies in 2 systems: 45 minutes (5 minutes taken for changing system) The anomalies takes 4 hours to respawn. Unless he has much longer playtime he cant mine more than once a day in each system. Amount of ISKs gained per day: 0.75*10/5 = 1.5 bil/day To support his fleet he needs to spend more than 60 billions a month on PLEXes. At the rate of 1.5 bil/day it takes 40 days i.e longer than a month. Conclusion: This guy needs to mine more than 2 complete anomalies a day just to support his entire fleet. The conclusion was drawn assuming the initial data are correct (I am no miner I have no idea about how much can be gained from a single ice anomaly)
you are also forgetting that he can make isk from PI with those 97 accounts
97x 6 = 582 planets
now if he makes pos fuel cubes from the ice that is alot of isk |

Say you update a planet in 5 minutes.
6 planets per char = 30minutes total per char 2 character = 1 hour 24 hours = 48 chars 97 chars = 2days 30minutes.. just for updating things, for 5 minutes each.
Oh we have to pickup or drop raw materials too huh? That's neat..
Its safe to say that managing around ~20 planets can burn you out, that you'll think really hard about training PI ever again. |

Dude that number is WAY Too high.
I can cycle my PI in 15 minutes if I'm not distracted/harassed/hunting. CCU, IC both at V
That said, it would be totally pointless to have PI on ALL of them. Of course, it would be a good idea to have it on some. |
