There is a serious issue with dust at the moment. It has aggressive cancer and wont make it past the year. lol jk jk but still dust is quite sick. There are a number of issues plaguing the game.
Ill start off with vehicles. I'm kind of confused about what direction this game is going. The maps are huge and the quickest way to get across the map is lav or dropship, then dumping them and letting them explode. small turrets are a joke so there is no point in even having a skilled up DS or LAV. garbage.
This kills alot of the potential fun the game could have. there's no dementionality in the matches. is a 2D lobby shooter, simple. BUT not so fast. there are some maps where people shoot down from the roofs of buildings, so.. its got some up and down. usually that's limited to snipers (that don't render) or forge gunners that ruin the game for everyone.
That brings me to the forge gun. what exactly is the forge gun? AV? anti personnel? no idea. All I know is that its good in both aspects.. too good. you only need to splash damage infantry. dropships don't stand 2 seconds against it. Tanks cannot fight them, tanks can only run. LAV's are unkillable, but ultimately useless (besides transport). forge guns rule when it comes to point defense because you cant get close enough to kill them and the drop uplink, so if you manage to get a lucky kill they just respawn and rip you open. The dps too high OR its too accurate over long distance. The only reason ccp's internal statistics are not showing overwhelming numbers is because there aren't that many forge gunners (but the number is slowly growing.)
tanks.. oh my.. tanks... shield tanks are garbage. Missiles are garbage. the best fit missile sheild tank vs the best fit armor with blaster. the armor wins ever time. missiles need SLIGHT splash increase. and SLIGHT DPS increase. and make the shield booster competitive with armor reppers.
swarms, I don't know who thought it was a good idea to let the swarms have the much higher ROF but with proto swarms it only takes 3 volleys to kill a tank. that give the tank 3 seconds to get to cover or explode.
View distance. turrets, players, tanks, dropships, are all invisible at longer ranges. WTF IS THIS GARBAGE?? I would rather play a laggy, buggy, ugly, low res game than not be able to see the enemy. FIX IT! (its worse in the tank, you cant see more than 3 tank lengths in front of you)
Terrain. 70 degrees and lower slope is passable in real life. this should not be an issue, but its been there since early closed beta.
Invisible walls. self explanatory. again shouldn't be that big of a deal probably related to unreal engine and to the terrain issues..
Hit detection has been worse In earlier builds but. it really only sucks for shotgun and tank blaster vs infantry.
PC........... laggy.. not really sure about this.. worth a mention tho.
The rifle gun play and mass drivers are in a good spot. I wouldn't change much.
LAI DAI grenades are OP. or just grenade damage calculations are not working right. because core grenades do insane damage too.
frame rates when in CQC are bad. but the hardware limits frame rate. so I'm not sure this is an easy one.
besides any other bugs or annoyances. vehicles need to be improved for this game to survive. most of the fun and such comes from it. .. gun game could be integrated into them.. i dunno.. It would be awesome to be able to shoot AR's or MD's out of a drop ship.
