Many thanks for the very nice spotlight, CCP Games! We're flattered by the attention.
The UNI lives to serve the entire EVE Online community. We simply want people to have more fun playing the game. If anyone would like to teach a class or do a guest lecture on our public Mumble channel, please let me know - any topic is welcome!

I've never been a member of EVE University, but their wiki was an immense help to me when I was a newbie, and it's still my first resort when I have a question.
Great job, guys! You're a credit to the game. Proud founder and member of the Belligerent Desirables. |

Thanks so much for doing this spotlight.
We hope to continue helping new players, and can always use a hand teaching classes or adding wiki content. |

EVE Uni was the first player corporation i joined. Was a very educational experience, as they were wardecced non-stop by mercenary corps for a whole month right after I joined. They struggled to activate a "wardec shield" w/o CCP noticing because it was forbidden, to no avail. All educational operations were disrupted and noobs were suggested to jump corporations in case they wanted to play the game.
So my first experience with corporations in EVE was:
- no way to do anything mulitplayer because of wardec disruption - CCP forbids do-gooder corps to protect themselves from griefing - CCP doesn't gives a **** of noobs trying to learn to play the game - jumping corps is easy but kinda of self-defeating - it's better to play alone than with the wrong company
That was in 2008. I guess that things have improved now, but, here's my experience in case you don't know what kind of jerks used to be CCP. The Greater Fool Bar is now open for business, 24/7. Come and have drinks and fun somewhere between RL and New Eden! |

I guess that things have improved now, but, here's my experience in case you don't know what kind of jerks used to be CCP. Our approach to wars is entirely different since that time. We have been under war conditions for probably 95%+ of the last year, and are functioning. We actively try to help new players learn to play under war conditions while in highsec, and have many more options for them in other areas. Our players are free to go out and play with war targets, or go and try to do their own thing. A lot of our players now live in satellite campuses in areas like nullsec, lowsec, or w-space that give them entirely different learning opportunities. |

This is pretty much the only bit that's true.
And getting used to wardec conditions is not a bad thing.
The Eve Uni wiki is /really/ useful as a reference. Steve Ronuken for CSM 9!-á I'm starting early :) Handy tools and an SDE conversion Twitter: @fuzzysteve on Twitter |

HOW times Change, Kelduum's consent battle to bet CCP at their own game.
Azmo you are doing an amazing job, well done kiddo... BUT
The cues to join eve uni, why so long?
I often remind myself of Morning Maniac's mission.
To soften the blow to assist to retain eve players.
Perhaps as the 10th Birthday approached we could have a reunion... And for the birthday celebration open the doors to join with open arms without no resistance :)
