Edited by: Tigernan Christian on 04/02/2006 13:40:56 I use this as an anti-frig/tackler;
4 x 200mm t2s 1 x Med Nos t2 Named MWD, Web, 7.5k Scram 1600mm Plate, Small rep t2, Gyro t2
The rep is to be used after a fight - as it doens't usually make a difference whjile fighting (doesn't repair much)
You only lose about 500m/sec with the plate, top speed being 2km/s

You don't really have to use small guns to hit frigs. I use this and have no prob with frigs
High: 4xTech 2 Dual 180s, 2 medium nos mid: 10mn AB, large shield booster T2, invuln field low: 2x Tech2 gyros, PDU (could fit a lot here)
With the nos running I never have a prob with cap and the booster damn near repairs 1/4 of the sheilds everytime it runs, so you need it use it very little. I fly this like a Mini-bond. http://home.comcast.net/~jasonn/atar1.jpg Custom sigs for 5mil - evemail me

T2 medium autocannons might be a mistake, they take 1 cap per shot and they should plenty!. You're probably better of equiping named Medium autocannons instead as they don't use/take any cap to fire. Save your cap so you can run/repair
Also, you still got one launcher/high slot left, are you sure you don't have enough cpu/grid left to equip maybe a rocket launcher. Defenders might not be all that but they can still help a little, and the rockets usually work just fine on drones and frigs.
No real comments on the plate, never tried it.....though if your drop it, you could take a medium armor repair and perhaps a Energized Adaptive plate, though that depends on your cpu. +20% damage reduction per hit and double the repair speed might be more effective in the long run, at the very least you'll have less downtime and can tackle faster (note that you can use the cap that you saved from the named guns for the repair).

Atm I can't use t2 med autocannons, and 200mm chew up frigs easily, with room for fitting a 1600mm plate.
Think of it as an oversized claw :P

stabber sucks for DPS ;(
but if you must use one (for PVE!!)
4x220s,1med nos and for the last slot either another nos or launcher 1xAB,1webber,shieldboost 2xdmg mods, PDS
this gives you at least OK dps.
not quite clever enough.

are the dual med ACs better at hiting frigs than their rail variant? since the dual med rails hit cr*p -------------------------------------------------

Rails are for long range, AC's are for short range, so yeah, they hit a lot better then rails (short range). ACs do track a bit worse then blasters however, but they have more range in return (optimal+falloff).

Nothing wrong with fitting frig guns to take down frigs. The only problems you run into is longer range frigs. Like crows where you wont possiable catch. Medium autocannons can reach out further to hit at longer ranges like for example a frig running away from you outside your 200m range.
So you got to take that under consideration too. The frig guns will work rather well on the stabber if in range. Just like on any cruiser but there's nothing wrong with going medium autocannons with a webber either for better dps if you need it.

250/280 IIs will out perform medium ac's in this situation and still leave enough room for the 1600 :P
