Edited by: Noriath on 08/02/2006 10:31:27 No offense, but it kind of annoys me that people still think a bunch of colorfules boxes on the screen with some music is a good video.
For crying out loud people, if you want to make a great video zoom in, swich off the menues, show us some action. Everyone knows what PvP looks like if you just fight, and it isn't too spectacular, no matter what kind of music you put with the footage - it looks all the same.
Shooting boxes + Music is not an interesting video. No matter what you blow up.
Same thing goes for videos that show your HAC or elite frig circling another ship and jamming/shooting it untill it blows up. We've seen it all, it's old. Don't make any more of those movies.
I just wanted to say that, because every time I see one like this I feel like I wasted my time watching it, and whoever made it wasted their time making it.

I'd say the exact opposite--pretty videos without interfaces are USELESS because they are completely boring and you generally have no idea what's going on.
I want to see a real fight, from the perspective of a fighter, with the fight going down to the last hitpoint. I don't want to see two ships shooting each other without an interface for 5 minutes. -- Proud member of the [23].

Depends on what you want.
If you want a battle report, you're happy with those little boxes. But that can be provided by a text and 0-5 screenshots as well. Save the bytes.
If you want to watch a nice video with action in it, there is nothing more boring on earth than an eve interface footage. -- This game is still in beta stage |

Agree with DS and others about the interface showing.
Close fights with damage readouts and voice comms are the most interesting.
One of the best fights I've seen, for example, was an apoc fighting a vagabond and a deimos outside a station, from the perspective of the apoc. He had so little structure left, and I thought he was going to die on several different occasions. I remember actually squirming in my seat and talking to myself while watching it. It was great!
Without the menu, it'd have been boring. I'd have fast forwarded.
Show menus, damage, try to add voice comms or some text commentary...
Hiding the menus is good for some cinematic shots of duels or stations or whatnot, but not for an actual fight.

100% agree. Learns you a whole lot about what exactly is going on. And allows the non-pvpers like me learn a bit about setup Only cinematic thing I like in a case like that is perhaps the 'set as interest'-thingie, gives a great look.
OP: Nice video dude, congratz on the kills. I do really wonder why anybody would be flying a carrier or dread without support though... Waaaaay too much investment for that imo...
