Thanks. This looks a lot like the same issue Kristenn is running into. Will look at this with CCP Atropos in the morning as it seems to have to do with http download changes we also pushed out and he knows way more about those than I do. Launcher's loading bar stays blank, can't log on
Hi.
I tried to log on to Singularity yesterday. The launcher auto-updated and shut down so I started it again, but since then, the loading bar at the bottom stays blank (http://i.imgur.com/Hj59Clt.png .) I don't get the "client is ready" message, leaving me unable to log in (to be more precise, I can log in but the "PLAY" button stays grayed-out so I can't play the game.)
Reading some of the posts here, I tried to delete .patch files but I couldn't find any.
Here's my log http://pastebin.com/wMAhpUmE .
Is there anything I can do? |

If you manually started the EVE Launcher during it's selfupdate phase, there's a chance you've corrupted the installed version. The latest version is 2.1.664550 but your log states you're using 2.1.658753. You can try restarting the EVE Launcher, but looking at the log you provided I believe this won't work.
Your best bet is probably to download and run the installer from here: http://cdn1.eveonline.com/EveOnlineLauncher/beta/EVEOnlineLauncher_2_1_664550.exe EVE Launcher - Team Special Circumstances |

I don't know if precalculated patches from the current TQ build to the current Sisi build are available, sorry. But it's good to know that you are running through a transparent proxy. Rest assured that we are not going to deploy the current launcher to Tranquility until we have resolved these issues. Senior Programmer Team Special Circumstances Friend of Walking Avatars |

I've tested back today.
The download of the patch is the problem, because it's not complete, and still applicated. |

We haven-¦t given up.
Also, be aware that there are two sets of rollsums: The local cache copy for the installed version, and the one we are fetching remotely for the new version. In this particular case the remote copy for some reason does not contain said entries, even though they are physically in the file. So there is a failure acquiring the remote information somewhere, we just have not found it yet. Senior Programmer Team Special Circumstances Friend of Walking Avatars |

Yes it would bien apreciable if you can put a premade patch so the launcher just need to dl it and patch.
I can do another install and keep the this one to still help you to find the problem. |

after waiting for quite a few hours, the launcher started but never showed any progress on the progress bar, not even words saying that it was trying to download or update it was just a grey progress bar. on the higher note atleast my TQ folder still updates fine |

this is from the launcher cache labled 12-10-2013 or something.
altho I tried multiple times with the same problem, shouldn't there be more listed? maybe you can pull up the logfiles my client sent you when it crashed (because everytime I close the sisi launcher it freezes and says its 'sending ccp logfiles')
maybe I should just bring my computer somewhere that has an isp that isn't forcing me to go through a transparent proxy....altho being the #1 isp in eastern America I wouldn't think they would force that. idk ill have to check and make sure I just tried tool from a website to ocheck if I have a proxy and it said I have a transparent one. idk at this point im frustrated beyond belief because I have new guys that are dying because I cant train them and id rather them not quit on me. and id goto high sec but with active wars and active targets always around its just not good news lol. is there a link to the actual patch from current TQ into SISI that I can download and import into the installer? anything along these lines? if not ill just figure somewhere to take my computer and hope lol thanks again |

Two things I notice right away: 1) You are trying to connect that launcher version to TQ, which currently won't work for other background changes that need to be deployed to TQ first. 2) This is more important and something you already realized: there are network issues, e.g. you seem to receive an invalid configuration file.
As such, two questions: 1) Can you open https://client.eveonline.com/patches/win_launcherinfoTQ_inc.txt in a normal browser and see what it displays? 2) Can you go to the launcher's cache folder and see what the contents of win_launcherinfoTQ_inc.txt and settings.yaml in there are? I did notice that it was trying to connect with the TQ server/patch, but wasn't sure if I should make a shortcut like with sisi launcher (and I didn't know because I didn't pay attention and notice that it was the launcher app and not an app to patch the launcher) so I will see what I can come up with on my end. thank you for your time and patience, but because you are a dev I can still shake my fist at you and call you butthead?

Ok thanks for the response.
I don't know why either...each time I connect with the sisi client it fails at 25%. TQ however has no problems with updating...shame, because I do go on to sisi regularly to try out the new features.

I tried updating my sisi client for the recent Jan 21st mass test, but the update via the launcher seemed to have been interrupted (I was on TQ while the sisi launcher was in the background). Later, I was surprised to see that my TQ launcher was running on offline mode. At first I tried to check my 'net and router (restart pc, reset connection, etc) but everything seemed fine, and launching the TQ client directly via /bin/exefile.exe is working for me at the moment.
Digging thru some of the launcher logs (both sisi and TQ launchers), and searching for 'error' lines, the only glaring ones are the following: [from the /CCP/EVE/launcher/cache/launcher{date} files.]
During the sisi patch
Quote:ConnectionError: HTTPConnectionPool(host='cdn1.eveonline.com', port=80): Max retries exceeded with url: /703519/RepairData_703519.dat (Caused by : [Errno 10054] An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host) After the sisi patch
Current TQ launcher error
I then ran the EVEOnlineLauncher_2_1_651614.exe hoping it would fix my TQ launcher, but it never worked. |

From my vantage point, the SISI launcher updates up to 130% and the crashes
it's rather uncommon, and i'm amazed that it is able to update up to more than 100%.
you can find the log details there in the pastebin link : http://pastebin.com/4ieddAuq
Is there another way to update the build? I tried the "old ways", looking for the version of my buid and finding the right patch manually but i think that "one does not simply patch manually anymore"

I think it's because you received a timeout and it re-requested the data: Timeout: HTTPConnectionPool(host='cdn1.eveonline.com', port=80): Read timed out. (read timeout=[object object at 0x004A14C0])
