Why NPC corps are NPC corps? Why it can't be in this way:
These nw corps will have more RP focus than anything, there will be simple mechanism of All Corps will have shares, 1 player 1 share. When player starts game, he is located in the predefined corp we know as NPC corp today, he can pick the corp.
Corp members will be voting for CEOs, anyone could qualify. There would be voting system. Votes would be managed by the shares. Shares will be avarded only to a non trial pilot. You could sell your share for ISK, give it for free, or you could keep it. Player or CEO can resign in any time, only by starting their own corp, but he will resign in all the roles in last one, no one can kick the other player out. Next CEO would be chosen by voting, in the meantime no one would be the CEO. Position would be held by no one.
Those new corps would be wardecable by other corps of the same origin, the "now not so NPC" corps. CEO can declare war, it would be started by voting. The fighting would be restricted to low sec and null sec. When people from rival corps would shoot at their opponents in high sec, concord would show up. Their oponents will not be RED in high sec. |

The point of it was not to scare the carebears out of their shoes, at least their taxes will be the same and they will go to "CONCORD". |

No, not this again.
NPC Corps give the refuge some seek from wars that they want no part in or didn't ask for and for that they pay, I believe, 11% tax. Others abuse this but just because some do doesn't mean you need to hurt everyone.
If one guy shoots another you don't carpet bomb the whole city...you go after the individual and this is true in EVE as well. Did your War Target escape to an NPC Corp? Then go find him using Locator Agents, or hire some mercenaries and get them on the job of taking him out or hire the Guiding Hand Social Club
Leave NPC Corps as they are meant to be...Non-Player Controlled. |

No more amarr:
You must join goons (or someone else, but let's say goons). Goons are at war with everyone. You are everyone's target. Goons shoot blues. You are at war with goons.
No more eve economy.
You know those big whales lumbering about in space? Or the juicy gank targets humping asteroids all day? All gone. None exist.
You are an idiot.
Edit: or was it Test who shoots blues? Either way, same end result of you being an idiot. |

Too much stimulants?
Why there will be no economy? Why they will be all gone? How the frogs are doing?
All players will not be Goons. never, they could rig something to their cause, but as much as any large alliance. |

I don't know about player owned directly but maybe a float of shares indirectly on a separate shares market, say 10% of all NPC corps to start with and over time increasing to 20% or 30% and creating provisions to eventually including player corporation shares as well, I would overhall the entire shares system though personally removing them from all starting corporations (CEO starts as dictator with option to float corporation onto the stockmarket), even new voting systems which include 'freezing' shareholder assets, nullifying shares and so on, indeed there should be more options for differing types of business entity, such as sole trader, Directorship, partnerships (dual CEO roles), Ltd's and PLC's. |

Goons, then they told Vile Rat (RIP).
Really, this idea is terrible ... but not far off from something that could potentially help out hisec.
1. Rookie corps (aka starter corps) are just that -> for rookies. You're kicked out (forcibly) after 30d (when you lose the "Rookie Chat" channel -- I know "Rookie Chat" is acount-based, this would be character age though)
2. Anyone kicked out of the Rookie Corp, or leaving a player corp goes to the NPC militia. All players currently in NPC corps (e.g. "The Scope" or "Aliastra", etc) are moved to their respective militia. Militia choices default to race, although you're free to sign up with the other militias if you feel like it when leaving your player corp (you just have to manually sign up instead of "leave corp").
This really doesn't fix "all the things" wrong with NPC corps, but it helps ... and ends up being funny when someone drops corp to evade a wardec and ends up being in the "wrong" militia |

The idea behind the whole overhaul was to push out people to the other corps, be it one man corps, or the ones that are stationed in null sec, or others. Those who stay would have to deal with spying, awoxing and other RP content. Sums it up pretty nicely. |

Preventing all non-consensual pvp is a great idea too. Make everyone go carebear, be it mining, manufacturing or missioning.
sums it up pretty nicely.

Guess i was a bit to subtle.
Forcing others to play the way you want because you dont like their style isnt a satisfactory reason for wanting a change to the game, especially when the chief impact will be on newbie players. |

I guess you dont understand me, all I proposed was to push the players to other player controlled corporations. Mining, production or missioning could be made in other corporations, like now, nerfing NPC corps would just add more people to those actively searching for good corporations or making their own. Their playstyle would not change. |

k, im going for super blunt this time in hopes that we can communicate at some level.
Leave noobies to make the choice to leave NPC corps when they are ready, just because you dont want them in NPC corps for some reason is not valid reasoning for a change that could turn off newbies to playing EVE. Newbies need some time to get their head into the game before they start into more complicated areas like choosing corps.

Noobies will learn about this game, dont you worry about that. Being in NPC corp isnt really helpful more than beeing in other corps, more importantly, certain corps have more teaching in their shedule than others, so placing someone in NPC corp isn't really helpful when we also have rookie channel, and those "schools". |

At least its CCP decision to nerf NPC corps or not, for me its simple, they should.
I didnt claim being in an NPC corp was helpful, i said that leaving the NPC corp is a decision that newbies need to make when they have a feel for what EVE is about.
"I want it so CCP should do it", isnt the kind of reasoning that sways devs to make major game changes, expect your idea to never get anywhere unless you can put forth a more compelling reason for its implementation. |

Compelling reason? If not for making bonds and learning useful, practical ways of playing this game, then for what? Why CCP is doing the learning sessions? See? They too think about that, but they are using the less efficient way of doing it, because players could do it more efficiently, being missioners or PvP oriented players. They would take someone to the low sec roam and practically people would be teached by practical actions anywhere and anytime. How that sounds? |
