Just think, if CCP hadn't pumped so much of the cash eve players give them to play eve into developing other games how last nights live event might have been.
How did that live event go btw ?
Just imagine, if all the cash ccp get from people playing eve, they had invested the same percentage back into better servers and resources as they have thrown towards other projects (yet to yield fruit) based on cash straight from your wallets to play this game, how things might have been different ?
If eve player sub cash thrown @ dust and vampires had been spent on eve, just imagine how last night might have been.
A broken sandbox that funds other boxes external to the box we live in is the current state of affairs.
The angsty ps3 players and vampires to be, are laughing at you. |

Hey, corporate principles are fine.
Regardless, my point remains.
How better might last nights live event have been if the eve subscriber cash CCP have thrown towards other projects (yet to yield fruit and in many cases losing cash) had been spent on improving eve ? |

The criteria is that you be Goldman Sachs or have at least 1 billion dollars worth of lobbyists in the US Congress. That way the congressmen can come on your yacht to rub your nipples too. |

Don't forget, in order for the investors to get their monies worth with the rubbing of the nipples, the CEO has to lay off a bunch of company workers and cancel a bunch of projects to save money so they can turn around and give the saved money to the investors.
New products? Pfaah! That's for companies who don't understand the value of golden parachutes and nipple rubbing parties. |

The reason i made this post was i find it amusing seeing all the neckbeards rage @ all that went wrong during last nights tidi, lamb to the slaughter fest, yet people are too naive to see the fundamental problem that is still like a bad wart that does not go away.
As long as CCP continue to hemorrhage the rl isk straight from your wallets and throw it at other projects which have no effect on eve performance then i do laugh @ anybody complaining absent wider understanding of why this game still has "gameplay issues" that are hard to endure.
Terrible ps3 game / vampires vs better eve servers - you decide what the cash would have been better spent on since you pay for it anyway lol. |

Truth be told I ordered and Oculus Rift. If its cracked up to what the people on youtube claim it to be, then I will most likley be quitting EVE and playing most Oculus Rift supported games.
This means I might be spending a good deal of time in Valkyrie. Of course Valkyrie could suck like dust and I'll be playing Star Citizen instead.
Note... This is a hint for CCP develope an Occulus Rift supported EVE client. |

As far as core values go however, i would suggest that ccp probably knows the sandbox has reached it's limit and the financial benefit of upgrading the servers outweighs the benefit of trying to milk the existing playerbase for as long as it can now until other projects come to fruition |

Still waiting to hear any valid opinions other than 1 hour being saved tidi wise if ccp had not spunked rl eve players cash into as it stands failing or un-proven ventures yet while eve players get shafted while the game they pay for, pays for err other things and not the stuff broken |

For the record if ccp had spent the rl isk they had on making last nights live event tidi 20% instead of 10% by not derping all the eve profits into questionable projects, maybe given they did not we should expect a 10% decrease in sub costs for eve since clearly resources are being diverted ? |

I think you missed the point of my post.
CCP could throw all the money they make into bigger, better servers. You'd still have TiDi, you'd still have lag. There are limits to what current technology can handle. Can have the fastest computer in the world with the fastest internet connection possible. There's still only so much room on a server before it slows down or crashes. So I bet even if you doubled the performance of one of CCP's so called "reinforced nodes", you'd probably reduce TiDi only by about 10%. That's why other MMOs like PS2 or WoW have multiple servers with population limits. There's only so much you can do with current technology.

Are you trying to suggest that the money from eve subscribers that CCP have thrown @ dust and vampires could not have made a difference to the general performance of eve if it had been allocated ? |

Silly yetis don't understand the concept of 'the limit of what things can do'
Even if they did not invest into other products and threw it all on Eve, there would not be much difference in the maximum performance the servers can handle, better hardware and better code or not. There is a physical limit to what can be done, and we're pretty close to that limit. Spending millions of euros on getting 5% more performance or spending it on the future of the company, I think the second option is a better one.
There.. now even you should be able to understand, point made, question answered, now go away.
