Hi all, Does anyone have any idea of how big the Eve:Rubicon download size will be? Because my broadband downloads at 15.2 MB/s. according to the Telecom New Zealand speed test when i did the speed test. |

Lucky you, I get 0.5mb/s in the UK.
LOL at the state of the UK's infrastructure when someone on the other side of the planet can download from a server in London faster than someone a couple of hundred miles away. |

Who the hell is your service provider I would switch that buddy...
As for the amount of data used per expansion, is it really that low... I actually expected more, dunno why haha... |

There is a small (massive) difference between 15.2MB/s and 15.2 Mb/s. The first will be an advertised download speed of 150Mb and usually that is a max speed using a ping or similar measurement to a national router.
Of course, companies use a content provider (CCP use Level 3 I believe) so understanding where your CP has their datacenters is a major factor.
So - you got fiber to the cabinet or premises?

I dunno what part of the UK your living in. I have the cheapest level package from my provider and i get 20mb/s. If i pay for it theres 100mb/s on offer. |

It depends on how many people live near him. Here in Stamford, CT, United States (a med city), I have a 15mb/s plan. During morning and noon hours, I get 15-20mb/s. But in the evening when everyone else in online, I am lucky to get 1.5mb/s. So if someone is in London living near plenty of people on the same line, it will get really slow. The same thing in my aunts apartment in NYC. |

If this world was perfect, everyone would know the difference between Mb and MB, that a bit is not as big as a bite, and if you only nibble it's half as much as a bite, but four times as much as a bit. There's no such things as a little bit, but I do believe there's a lot of bit. A mega bit is a pretty big chunk you might have trouble swallowing, but some bitches just take it as it comes, so they wouldn't know ;)
In other words, either way, don't worry, OP! ;) |

Using http://www.speedtest.net/ I get 12.63Mbps down, 0.87Mbps up when testing against the server it thinks is best (located in Auckland). For a more realistic test, I picked a London server. 6.83Mbps down, 0.5Mbps up.
I never get download speeds that fast on anything that shows how fast its downloading. Then again, 1080p youtube videos load faster than I can watch them, so I'm not sure if a faster speed will help me at all. Especially when I'm thinking that my connection is not the bottleneck.
Better question: What's his monthly transfer limit ? |

I haven't even gotten fibre yet because construction of NZ's UltraFast Broadband hasn't even begun because Chorus who's contracting the cable layers is worried about weither they'll have enough money to do it.So i'll be roughly late 2015-early 2016 before i get fibre optic internet and i'm not sure weither it's to the cabinet or to the door.
