1st Note I normally run 2-3 Eve Applications same time.
I would like to know if any of these upgrades would make a decent improvement, or not.
1. Adding an additional Hard Drive for Eve Only. Seems like running Eve on one hard drive would speed up it up some but not sure.
2. Currently have 2gb of memory, Thinking about adding in an additional 2gb.
3. Currently have AMD 64 3200+. Upgrade it to a AMD X2 4400+ Toledo Dual Core. (I am told this alone will run my computer faster) but would like to get some verification.
Thank you all and I will try to answer any questions you may have or any other suggestions.

Ok the AMD processor upgrade will deffantly help because EVE will support dual core processors! As shown here Linkage!
Upgrading Ram should help, im not exactly sure, but logically yes if you change the pref.ini option for buffer
Harddrive...dont ask! i belive yes on this one too, but i wouldn't know!

Hi,
1. The more hard drives on different controllers the better! I only run one eve account ut use 3 hard drives on 3 separate controllers (1 for windows installation, 1 for swap file and 1 for data)
I would certainly suggest having a separate disk for your swap file (only needs to be 10-20GB) as this allows windows to page to disk far more efficiently.
I would also think that having your different accounts on separate disks will speed thinks up.
2. Im not too sure if extra memory will help if you are running 32bit XP as of its inbuilt memory access limitations.
3. A dual core cpu will definately help .

1. Not a bad idea. Might speed it up some--having two hard disks is generally good in any case. Especially if you horde anime and Family Guy episodes like I do.
2. Not necessary.
3. Dual core will be a godsend for running multiple EVE clients. -- Proud member of the [23].

1: This is not wrong per say... But it is definetly not a big enough boost in performance to actualy put your operating system and page file on not only different disks but individual controlers... Take a 40 gig hard drive.. Put it on the primary slot of your primary controller... partition it as a 35gig and whatever is left is the rest. Your page file should not be more than 1.5 times the ammount of ram you have, More will actualy slow you down (in windows xp that is.. all service packs). Seperating them to different controllers will not increase access speed that much considering your OS and pagefile should not be accessed much, if at all while running eve.
2: If you are running 2-3 copies of eve and a typical XP install and nothing else, 2 gigs of ram (maybe 2.5-3 if you have tons of background applications) should do you for quite some time.. Add more if you feel like it but it won't boost performance much.. if at all.
3: Dual core cpu will help, yep. But the main point of a dual core shouldn't be to split applications between the two cores.. It should be to assign your OS and other background applications to the primary core and your copies of eve to the second core. If you want efficiency that is.
4: I like to rant and rant and rant and rant and ra...... .. . ... .. .. . ... *brain stops working*

ok the dual core will help aton and will be great for the server upgrades comming soon and the eventual move to 64-bit coding,a memory up grade will also help alot look for 2 gigs or more as your target number, also a graphics card upgrade as well something from Texas Instruments or the Nvidia Saphire series. This will give you lot and lots of power and basically you will have the Ferrari of computers.
