Scorpion hands down
Best EW Platform in existance
but best solo PVP Ship is probobly eithe r awell setup raven or Harpy
raven cause it has massive versitility with its highs/mids lows
and harpy's cause well they shield tank with the best BS's hands down

Surely you mean Hawks? Harpys have less of a tanking ability.

Would you like to re-read both my post and the one above?

scorpion
solo pwn mobile with techII jammers and techII cruise missiles. sure, it lacks firepower, but who cares. if it can web, scramble, nos, paint and jam the target and still fit some armor tank.
raven isnt a really good ew platform compared to the scorpion...
eagle rules in long range frig killing btw

He means harpy
Harpy's tanking is part of why its a good solo ship. _______________________________________________ Deadspace For Dead space!

Im sorry to say it: But a blackbird can BEAT a scorpion, it might not be able to kill it but it can hold and jam it while you get re-inforcements. The reason the BB is better is simply because unless the scorp is fitting sensor boosters (which he should be) the bb will get a faster lock on him everytime therefore he can jam him first. But yeah the benefits of a scorp are: In gangs they can jam multiple targets, however the blackbird unless the mids are only fitted with Jammers would struggle jamming multiple enemies. Please tell me if you think i am wrong or overlooked anything.

I would have expected to see a HAC on this list but then again I wasn't really sure that Caldari's HAC's are as good as other races.

My top picks are Eagle. While she may not have the DPS of other hacs, she has a mean tank potential and just with a T2 med booster and 1 EM hardner or invuln, she has awesome resists. Fitted with 250 IIs she can rain down fire on enemy frigates like no other ship. At the same time, when its fitted with blasters, she makes a great ship with 4 T2 ions with 10 KM optimal range with null and 2 med nos? I like it alot.
Falcon. I've only used this once so far in PVP, but lets just say a cyclone didnt have a chance, and I didn't miss a cycle. In a small gang, she's a mean ship uncloaking and jamming at will. When testing out ships I was able to keep my friends scorpion locked down ;)

Edited by: Jamius on 17/02/2006 13:35:13 For solo PvP the scorp is definetely NOT the best PvP ship - if you actually want to get lots of fights that is.
Caracal and Ferox are great as lots of people actually fight them and each one is a top PvP ship after the fight starts too, not just in getting it started.
I got a scorp once and never even fitted jammers (cos they suck and ruin a good fight IMO) and no-one engaged me, ever!! It also has the worst lock time known to man so you need to use 2, often 3 slots for sensor boosters just to get a lock on cruisers before someone warps off. It might indeed lock and kill a BS but I see no fun in it whatsoever. Lock BS, jam it, spend the next 15 mins killing it - might aswell go ratting. I remember a scorp pilot, well setup with jamming, web, scrambler and NOS utterly incapacitating me in a prophecy then spending the next 10 mins at least, killing me. It was like being stabbed to death by a small needle.
For fleets and other situations sure but in my general experience in both belt and gate pirating and 0.0 PvPing, the ships I listed rock as you get lots of good fun fights.
Harpy too but any decent cruiser pilot will waste you so your choices become limited if you want it to survive for any length of time. With the Caracal and Ferox you can fight any ship up to and including a BC in either of them and stand a very good chance of winning (well not a HAC in the caracal tbh - never tried it though :))
If you have to fight BS's then get a Raven - people might stay and fight it.
Sorry forgot to add the Cerb is ace but it's too expensive (like all HACs) and I personally would not use one in PvP. But if you do it's an ace ship with huge damage out put to any size of ship (if using T2 ammo for small ships).

One guy did mention an eagle.. which is a caldari HAC. I'd have to agree with the most of you though, on saying Scorp and Blackbird. I fly both and I love them.
I would say Raptor is good aswell, fast and effective. and if used properly a Manticore (stealth bomber).

Not disagreeing on the "good solo ship" part, but its more likely that a Hawk can out-tank it. ----- Memorable Quotes <Jarltan Dimtras> OH MY GOD MY GF IS A DUDE |

What makes the HAWK out tank the Harpy? I find little difference in their stats. Also can the HAWK or HARPY take on a BC one on one? Or is that just out of the question?
