Hi.
I saw an opinion, that "You're going to get 0.01 isked if you're in a station with other people". What does that mean? I understand, that it is somehow related to market, but still confused. |

Someone changes their market order to be 0.01 ISK lower (for sell) or higher (for buy) than yours. The way the market works is that only the lowest sell order and highest buy order in that station (or in range for buy orders) is the one that gets bought/sold. |

Also... If you trade or sell in a trade hub, you will have this happen. How often depends on how busy the hub is. If you're going to be a trader or sell stuff regularly, get used to it. |

As Elena pointed out, this is a favourite tool of market warriors - although not everybody does that - in large trading hubs. Some may tell you off if they learn you`re 0.01 isking, but all in all it proves to be a very effective strategy if you have plenty of time on your hands. Although mind-numbingly boring it might net you a decent profit. "Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet."

I make it a point to buy from the guy that isn't 0.01 isking. |

The only way to do that is to wait until his sell order isn't the cheapest one around, or buy from someone in a different station. You can't just buy from another order - it will force you to purchase from the cheapest order in the station. If you purchase from an order with a higher price, the transaction will still be at the higher price, but will also still go to the cheapest sell order. |

And as the guy doing the 0.01 isking, I thank you for paying me a bit extra! |

Yup! Another interesting quirk of the system is that, occasionally, a buyer will have their market sorted by something other than price, and inadvertently purchase from a sell order that is substantially above the current market price. Mega bonus bucks if you happen to be the lowest sell order. :D |
