Here's the thing, I've' got crazy skills, can fly most everything, but I'm really torn at what I should pack for incursions (currently fly a scimi, want to bring dps for more fleeting options) but I dont know if I should go with a Sleipnir with gang links or buy a faction BS and try and shoot for HQ's or more assaults.
I really REALLY love typhoons, and a fleet issue with the above fit will get me 1245 dps with t1 ammo and Ogres. BUT, some of its resists are in the 60's, but it does have 74k EHP.
My questions are: Is ~60% resists unacceptable for BS's in incursions; Are sieges frowned on when there's no range bonus; Are typhoons passed over (even fleet issue) for pirate faction BS's? |

We run shiny fleets all the time. You should come out and join us and do some VGs in a fleet phoon. They put out rather good dps. That fit isaceptable for our fleets. |

No - phoon is bad, maelstrom is the standard incursion non-pirate battle ship.
Also a shiny fleet will kill most stuff before it gets into range for your ogres*unless it's a mom fleet - then your ogres are good to go.
As far as torpedoes go - well you're shooting at frigates a lot and torpedoes just wouldn't damage them noticeably.

Mostly this.
Use Warriors or Hobgoblins.
Use Cruise missiles.
Fit a damage control, too. 3 slot tank won't make logi's happy, and when we're not happy you're not in a fleet anymore. |

IMO, drop a LSE, and add a EM shield hardener, then change your rig from an EM rig to a thermal rig. Your EHP buffer may drop, but its easier for the logi rep to keep up with the damage.
When logi's have a hard time repping you, especially when there is split DPS, then other ships may pop because they need to put extra reppers on you. Of course, IMO, they should just not put the extra reppers on you, and prioritize based on ship cost or fitting competence, and put the needed reppers on a Mach/NM, or even a wel fit mael, while not necessarily giving you the reps you need to survive.
I'd also second no heavy drones(maybe a set of sentries for OTAs when they are still at range/the deltoles get webbed?), and no Torps. You might want to consider a faction web in place of the target painter. |

Good advice.
But painters are probably better, not cause of the missile damage, but because you can only put soo many webs on a ship, the large sig from the painter will help better at that point. |

Typically, "shiny" fleets want a minimum of a pirate battleship and t2 guns. Some of them seem to only accept nightmares and machariels...I once watched a well-fit vindi get turned down three times in favor of waiting for one of those two. o.0
That said, you can do very well in a fleet that isn't full of pirate ships. I had a fleet in the last pocket incursion that had most sites down to six minutes or less. We had only 2 pirate ships (mach/vindi), and some really odd fits in there as well, like the FC's blaster tengu. o.0 |

Meh. Phoon isn't too great for vanguards due to torps being overall innacurate against frigates.
Also, what ^they^ said about FC's who only accept 3bil+ pirate battleships. |
