I've been a faithful Minmatar citizen, undertaking missions from several Min agents for awhile now. A corp-mate just recently pointed out that my Amarr Empire faction is dangerously low....-2.2 so far. I know in the past I would have been able to do Interbus missions to slowly fix all empires' standing, but they don't seem to give any storyline missions anymore. What can I do? Do I simply train up Diplomacy to the point where the Amarr like me again? After that, how do I go about doing missions and still maintain decent faction standings with all the empires? ----------------------------------- You will be assimilated...bunghole! |

standings don't really affect much aside from refining and agents, so unless you plan on moving into amarr space, it really doesn't matter too much.

Be careful.. If it gets -5.0 or below, Amarr Empire will own you.

Not sure why a Minmatar warrior would want the Amarr to "like" you, and if you continue to complete missions that are favorable to your race's plight, you can expect that your Amarr standing will continue to be reduced as your Minmatar standings are increased.
However, as the previous reply stated, unless you plan on moving to Amarr space and, as some might view, betraying your own people, there is nothing to worry about.
My standings with Serpentis is about -7.0, but I can still dock in their stations and am not getting attacked by station sentry guns.

Edited by: Raj Whitehall on 22/02/2006 17:42:01 me I caldari citzen has been doing amarr mission for years. noticed that my minmater standings had dropped to -2.0, so I started doing minmater missins to raise it and stopped doing amarr storyline missions. my standings with amarr NPC corps still go up. my amarr standing has dropped a bit and my minmater standings are increasing back into +'s. since our corp has offices in minmater stations was a must for me not drop to -5.0.
only thing now is the minmater missions tend make my caldari standings decrease so I must soon start doing missions for caldari. and might as well round it out and do some galante missions also.
any notice how is amarr-caldari and minmater-galante.

Amarr and Matari are enemies Cald and Gal are enemies Amar and Cald are 'allies' Matari and Gal are 'allies'
Standings with the enemy faction will drop a lot, standings iwth the enemies ally will drop a little. ------------

If you train up some of the social skills, the diplomacy skill in particular, you can help reduce your negative standing towards "hostile" factions.

Skill at interacting with hostile Agents. 0.4 Bonus per level to effective standing towards hostile Agents.

It would be neat if, instead of making faction navies pwn joo when you are -5.0, Concord just gets paged to take a back seat and you are FFA in that faction's space.
Maybe you shouldn't have a bracket though, that way, you only potentially get attacked by people who have researched your situation.

Neat. Will mean roaming gatecampers, poor gatecampers, or gatecampers that own POS. Perhaps a subtle change in the view of some, but still an interesting development.
For the record, I still <3 0.0 gatecampers.
It won't mean much for npcers in general as I presume the worst of the worst don't roam much. 750 in Jita before the end of March is my gamble.

Bit late to worry about that, isn't it?

I have a REALLY bad short term memory, but I seem to recall reading somewhere that soon faction standings would be a lot more important after an update. was that with the Blood update, or is that something in the future.

There is another way to gain standing quickly and easily. The draw-back is it's a one-time deal: There are NPC frigates outside the station in each of the player starter systems. The racial Navy NPCs give out a mission to collect 5 pirate copper tags, and bring them back to the Navy agent. The reward is an increase in that race's standing, and a more significant increase in that race's Navy's standing. For Gallente, these systems are: Duripant, Cistuvaert and Bourynes. For Caldari, these include: Kisogo, Todaki and I think Amsen. Someone else will have to list the systems for Amarr and Minmatar, as I haven't visited these yet...
Good luck! -----

Edited by: Morkato on 24/02/2006 04:37:21 Yggr: Thanks for that, I just gained a nice bit of faction. counting connections, I went from 6.19 to 6.55 with caldari navy, and got boosts to all the other usual pro-caldari factions. (did all 6 mission) I'd highly recommend them to anyone. (Amsen confirmed as one of the 3 locations for caldari)
edited for clarity - 3 missions are for copper pirate tags (15 total needed) - 3 missions are short courier missions (1.0m3) these missions dont give quite as nice a bonus. - at each of the 3 starter stations, there is one of each of these types.

Morkato, No problem. It really is an easy way to significantly boost your standings with a Navy (and a race). I didn't know about the courier missions - my Caldari standing was -1.07 (Human Cattle!), and I brought it down to -0.8 with the copper tags. So the courier types won't talk to me yet... I think I need a standing of +-0.0 before they will. (I had boosted my Caldari Navy standing to positive levels before doing the copper tags missions.) -----
