What's the minimum warping distance -- that is, how far must a BM be in order to warp to it? 100km? 1000km?

It's 250km.

I'm not overly sure about the 250km figure for bookmarks; I've created bookmarks outside stations to allow me to warp away almost instantly, but I have not been able to warp to them if they are 250-300km away from the station in question. Objects in space however, such as asteroids or sentry guns seem to be warpable from as little as 180km or so.

Maybe. It's been awhile since I bothered to look, but the 50 is DEFINITELY correct

IIRC you cannot warp to a BM in the same grid at all, unless that was changed. You can only warp to an object.

Hmm... how large is a grid cell and is there any way to find out which one you're in and where its boundaries are?

Grids are about 1000km wide. You can't see anything outside of the grid.

It varies from object to object I've noticed. For a station I was camping the other day, the grid was roughly 500-550km wide.
However, I've seen 300km ones as well and heard about 1000km wide from others.

How can you tell the boundaries of the cell that you're in?

Apparently, it has. I have a BM I use to jump to the far side of an ice belt, I can see the point I'm jumping to, 150km away.

That's good in some ways, but I can see it being very good for snipers too

It's 150 for sure, I use it often to lure npc's away from cans, warp to a point where they go after you, then head in the other direction, when at 150 km wait for them to come (if they are not already there), then jump to can / bm. ----

It works both ways. If you have proper BMs set, you can jump on top of the sniper and then he's screwed.

If you can warp to a bm in the same grid or not depends on how it was created. If you used the People & Places -> New bookmark it won't work but if you dropped a can and right clicked on it and choose bookmark this it will. Strange to say the least. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
