ok, blood sees the fixing of the faction standings bug that came in RMR... -5.0 or less standing and that faction sends ships to gank you in their 0.5+ space... this i understand, i get the reasoning behind it... but is it similar to a concord attack? can you have some fun blatting the ships they send in? can you fire back? do they send in silly numbers of ships? or just some intercepty types?
or is it simply a case of grabbing a very fast ship and/or instas and running for it?

I would guess it would be like how pirate NPC's operate. They see you they shoot you. But it won't be a concordokken style slaughterfest.
Which I hope is the case, because it would only take me a couple of days of faction warfare to be attacked on sight at our corporate headquarters in gallante space :D

If its anything like what they throw at you for being an outlaw (-5 or lower sec standing) then its the faction police. They have superfast lock, concord-style waiting-for-you-at-warp-exit-point garbage, and long distance, high point tackling (and webbing too). They do laughable damage though. While camping the Orvolle gate in Oulley some time back, I accidentally jumped into Orvolle in a Raven. I was easily able to tank them while approaching the gate at 32 m/s. I would have shot them down, but I didnt want to push my luck with a lack of players shooting me by waiting at the gate for my agro timer to clear.
It usually consists of 2 bs, 3 cruisers and 3 interceptors. You may shoot back. I have never taken any on since RMR in anything other than a shuttle though. Customs officers now infinijam from any range, so be warned the cops may too now.
While I understand its down atm, the test server is a fantastic place to find these things out. To get a low faction standing quickly, transport contraband. Only use 1 unit of whatever (preferably narcotics) though, as they standings hit doesnt increase with quantity.

Apparantly it's a lot less than being an outlaw. It's more like an NPC spawn, I'm told.

Edited by: Joshua Foiritain on 23/02/2006 23:19:38 With a -5 Faction standing; Just 1 cruiser and 2 frigates. No lewt, no sentries, no concord.
Easy to tank, they also warp in at ~40km so ample time to run in just about anything
With a -5 CONCORD standing; Instant Concordoken -------

yeah - they will target u at gates and stations but they dont swarm u like concord does.
i have had -5.0 or worse to amarr, caldari and ammatar for a long time. u can go in and out of their space easily enough as long as u dont hang around at gates and/or stations.
doing an afk run to a system in faction space where u r -5.0 is not a great idea, especially if u r not back at keys when u arrive.
sentry guns ignore u btw, its only faction navy ships that will attack.

You can easily get away.
You can also beat them senceless with a bs, repeatedly, you just cant stop them from respawning.
There, i just contributed nothing to your thread |

Yeah, tehy chase you and stuff, but little damage compared to concord. Used to be broken too, killed a Galletne Navy BS and his Vexor buddies with a kessie. Think they ahve fixed thema nd they ar less retarded now though. -------------- Director. Caldari Patriot. Murderer of (his own) Frigates. |
