BEFORE you jump on the flame wagon I want to say I agree that there should be no area of EVE that is completely 100% non pvp. Now that 90% the people that clicked the link have closed it I will ask my question. Essence region has been infested by blinky red gankers. Valid game play and it can be profitable. If you lose a ship it's probably because you were fit lazy but I still don't like them flying around in my space and I have been amazed at my neighbors lack of involvement in shutting them down. Until recently I have been the only one camping the station. They have yet to attempt more than fleeing in shuttles or pods. That's cool. I don't really care about killing them I just intend to shut them down as much as I can. I have limited...running mostly.some dying...pvp experience but i do have the skill set available and my thinking goes like this. If I understand the game mechanics, the blinky reds only get in trouble in hi sec if they hang around one spot for awhile. Travel from point to point is ignored by the Empire police. BUT. if I can engage them won't the cops show up after a while. I am pretty sure I can kill a few 4-5 6 gank fit cats but if they can egress the station with a few bc's or so i may have to wimper home and that will look bad. So is the BC scenario feasable |

To my understanding, if you can warp disrupt/scram/ keep one of those BC's on grid long enough, CONCORDOKEN and police will show up to help you out. "There is no good and evil. There is only power, and those too weak to seek it."

This is exactly what happens. You should definitely follow this fine fellow's advice.
Also, if you kill them in high sec and they have a bounty, you'll get double the normal bounty payout. I'm Denzel Washington, and I play chess. |

Confirmed.
Also (and not a lot of people know this, so please keep this between you and me). But a bounty on a player means they are freely attackable in any security space. If it says WANTED really big on their picture, you are free to engage. -Sky' |

You guys are being jerks.
Is NOBODY really going to inform him that he needs to set his safety to red in order to engage bountied persons?
OP, get your double bounty payouts. Safety switch to red. Blap em and get rich. Killboard

If you scram them, CONCORD isn't going to show up. CONCORD only shows up if someone commits a criminal act. Since you started the engagement, they flashy is free to shoot you... until the Faction navy shows up. The navy shows up anytime someone with bad standings hangs around in one spot too long in anything but a pod. They will web, neut, scram, and try to kill your red flashy. So you at least need to hold out until then, and probably a little longer. I know violence isn't the answer. I got it wrong on purpose. |

This. ^^^
Also, keep in mind that bounties in no way affect agression mechanics. Just because someone has a bounty does not mean they can be shot at without concord taking offense. That's what I love about Eve. It's the sense of community and helpful nature of the pilots! Good advice being given here for free. |

I'm from the New Order ma'am. We are primarily an education outreach program; teaching hisec residents all sorts of interesting game mechanics they were here to unaware of.

Almost correct.
The faction popo will show up and shoot them when they're below -2.0 to -5.0 depending on the security level of the space. CONCORD only shows up when you have a criminal timer, but at that point the entire thing is moot because you can't warp with a criminal timer anyway. There's also Faction Navy which is related to FW and different from Faction Popo.

Go ahead and attack them in whatever. If it gets too hot for you, because they are criminal, you can just dock up. |

This clearly says that blinky red (criminal flag) will get concordorkened.
" If you receive a Criminal flag in high security space (or jump into high security space with an active criminal timer acquired elsewhere), you will not be able to initiate warp, or jump through a stargate and CONCORD will spawn and attack you, gate-sentry guns will fire upon you, and any player may fire on you without penalty. Any jettisoned wrecks or containers will be auto-abandoned, allowing any other player to take from them without penalty."
However, you will get a limited engagement timer with them, which might last longer than their criminal flag. However, their friends can only remote assist. If they remote assist, the helper will get a suspect flag, which means anyone can engage them. My advice, don't do this alone. Here are some things that can happen:
You engage the pod and kill it. Kudos. You do NOT get a security status hit, they do NOT get kill rights. Use a fast locking frigate or interceptor.
You engage the pod, it docks. It waits out its criminal flag, possibly undocking with 30 seconds to spare to get a limited engagement with you. Then they undock with something nasty and blap you. You forget that you had 30 second left on your weapons timer and can't dock. Hopefully you were aligned. If you were in an interceptor, you should be able to flee easily. Pro tip, warp to 0, but don't jump through a gate. If they had an interceptor, they'll be there. Then align to a station. If they do nothing, warp to station and dock (your timer should be up by then). If they warp scram you, then jump through the gate, they can't follow now because they got a weapons timer. This only works because there is only one person you have a limited engagement with and they can't camp both sides of the gate. Therefore, do not engage another blinky red UNTIL your limited engagement flag is up. If you do, after the fight, dock up, or warp to a safe. Both can now engage you, and the scenario below gets much worse.
You engage, the pod docks, you have a limited engagement. You reship to something shinier than a interceptor, or you have a buddy with some good DPS. They undock, see they are in trouble, and either dock up, or engage hoping to kill you. Good luck here. Alternate to above, they have remote assistance. If it is a BS with remote reps, or a t2 logi, you need to really bring down the pain, or have your own remote reps. Their logi now has a suspect timer. Depending on who else is around they might get engaged (highly unlikely, PvPers hang out in low and null, sometimes in jita), I've seen it happen once during a wartime engagement in high sec, If you have a larger group (6 people) you should split your dps. you should hold a few people in reserve and don't have them engage the pod, so they can freely engage the logi, who might be waiting for you to engage so he can reship and then you have to deal with 2 hard core PvP'ers. If you split your group, each side will have to deal with one of them. Alternately, have one armageddon with several plates and cap boosters with 5 neuts on standby for the possible logi. The geddon pilot doesn't engage the pod, but will hit the logi. If the logi wasn't going to reship, this does eliminate its effect. you can't rep without cap.
There you go. You are going to run into issues because you are at a station. If you catch them after they jump a gate you win. If they know you are after them, they might turn around at the gate (remember above when you . Don't engage before they jump through unless you have backup on the other side. If you have backup on the other side, or backup that has just jumped through, you can 'push' them through the gate by engaging. |
