Greetings All,
I'm trying to figure out the best defensive fitting for a Badger II. I'm starting to do some mining in low Sec space and some of the Rats are giving me major trouble when I'm hauling. I almost got destroyed yesterday. Does anyone have any suggestions for decent fitting?
Thanks in Advance!
/Salute

The other way to do it is to get your destroyer or cruiser and kill the rats and then wander back with the badger 2 and pickup the ore. It's about 20-30 minutes before the rats come back to investigate the asteroid belt.
I mine in .6 belts using a Caldari Cormorant with 3 Miner 2's fitted along with 2 cap rechargers, civ shield booster, civ afterburner and 4 75mm railguns and a good quality cpu enhancer in the low slot.
I am able to mine into a secure can and stand there tanking the .6 rats and destroy them at my leisure. When the can's full I go back fully loaded, unload and get in the badger to pickup the ore.
Sometimes there's rats but if you're quick and have an insta to your secure can you can get all the ore and warp out before the rats get near you.
With 6 medium slots, perhaps fit 4 cap rechargers and a medium shield booster and a 10MN afterburner, and in the low one of those pdu's for the extra bonuses to cap, shields, etc it gives or something like nanofibre's to increase the badger agility or for more speed try 3 overdrive mods.
There's a few idea's, I'm sure others have different views/experience and can add thier fitout.

Shield tank it. Your mids are most important IMHO. I use 2 medium shield extenders and 3 shield hardeners (2x EM, 1x thermal); plus a cap recharger. Low: at least 1 damage control, and if you want to play it really safe, Shield Power relays (although a warp stabilizer can be useful too). Hi's are least important in this case, since you just want to get in and out in one piece. Only small nosferatu's would still fit after the above, and they're not much use against rats in lo sec I think.
I can tank rats in 0.5 this way indefinitely (with a Miner II on it I can AFK-mine there), so it should suffice to get you in and out against bigger rats.

Thanks for all the responses... As to the poster above... Man I guess I really need to get my skills up because I can't seem to get nearly enough from the powergrd to do that... But shield tanking is the way to go I think.
Thanks Again
