For all those Faction Warfare pilots out there, you might want to take a look at the latest DUST 514 dev blog. Main changes that affect EVE are the inclusion of killmails for orbital bombardments, LP for orbital strikes and new bombardment earning mechanics. Read here for more details: http://dust514.com/news/blog/2013/12/strengthening-the-link-factional-warfare-in-uprising-1.7/

I know nothing of DUST but some of that stuff looks interesting, and getting KM's means I want some of that action :)
I couldn't see any mention of dates though, is this in place now or coming soon?
Also, can anyone recommend a good resource for a EVE pilot to learn how best to interact with DUST and DUST corps. I mean how do we get corps to fight for Amarr and get them to go do battle in systems we want to takeover etc?
I don't have a PS3 so can't experience it from the DUST side, and I heard that it will not work on PS4 which had been my plan.
Taka.

Still hoping for a change of the FW bombardment mechanics to allow Alliance members (non-FW enrolled) to aid guys on the ground. Not sure why this can't be... Want Dust514 district ownership to matter? Want to nuke someone's PI from orbit? Read here:

Does anyone have any info on how you locate Districts? I was fighting on Planet V District 8 on the PS3 but could only warp to Planet 2 District III.... what gives?

in case someone is reading this, my feedback so far: - the killmails do not contain the side the mercs where fighting on (since it can change with every battle, and there is also friendly fire, its quite relevant) - would be nice to get a notification which side won the battle instead of the unfriendly disconnect msg - ship fitting should influence the OB performance (a pvp fitt destroyer should do good damage. a meta 0 fitt destroyer should not)
but it was surprisingly fun so far. got some fights in orbit too. eve style bounties (done) dust boarding parties imagine there is war and everybody cloaks - join FW |

Hi. I don't know if the Dust Devs looks around here, but I'm no dust player (nor PS3 owner ^^) and I've heard several complains in my corporation on the Dust-side.
The complains aren't in what the patch contains ... but in what it does not contain.
LP store seems really fine and cool but with the strong differences of CPU and PG between these new militias items and the old Proto ones (Sometimes it's 50% of the initial CPU that is required) 3 things appeared :
1) Skilling is less effective, cause Militias modules are to easy to fit and to get and don't cost much. 2) People must be equipped in militias modules if they want to be effective, there's no alternatives for now. 3) the most annoying thing : In a Eve/Dust pro-Gallente corporation, engaged in Gallente Factionnal Warfare, our goal is to keep FW district on the Gallente side, and trying to do the same in solar systems. Without any player-driven market, our people cannot get any Caldari or Amarr modules without actually playing with Caldari or Amarr militias ... You certainly see what I want to point out here.
We cannot forced our player to get LPs they don't want because they can't trade them ! They cannot get Caldari or Amarr Rifles, cause they can't have alts doing this for them in order to supply them, or they cannot trade their LPs to get what they want.
That's a major gap in your Gameplay CCP, I'm not whinning and saying : I'M GONNA QUIT THIS GAME YOLO -º but consider this problem as a major one if you want Dust players to have more impact and commitement to the New Eden universe :)
Cheers ! |

Wow! The excitement starts! Dusties Watch out!
I have been playing dust for a while now and the introduction of Loyalty points is a great way to reward as it really does pay out. some of the items on the Loyalty points store would cost you a ton of isk for what you would pay little LP,
I hope to be seeing some of you on my Killmails soon ;) I have seriously been enjoying these new updates and hope to see more coming soon!

This isn't really the case to be honest, The militia variants have always been the cheap option and it's not the only effective way to play.. if people are losing out using proto types it would stop all the proto stomping and they have more risk to take? the whole idea of using the higher ranked gear is the more you risk the more you "could" gain but people can still stomp in militia embarrassing enough ^ to quote what other peoples said I think you may need to play dust a little, but some good news is you might be able to on steamOS as i heard that's a thing soon, I have no idea if that's a definite but it's what's the word atm http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff386/falloutthreee/image_zps77d89494.png |

I just wanted to post here to say... "dang. It's been 17 days since the last post in the DUST forums. As of this moment, I, having made one post, am the MOST hard core DUST 514 fan of the last 2 weeks."
That's wack.

Your 3rd point does make sense, but your first two are off.
Mlt have two major downsides. 1. They take up more pg and cpu than the STD variant 2. They are terrible to use competitively. In other words if you want to get good, and make money in dust in general you have to skill into things. Dust Bunny! I prefer the Term Meta-Gaming Bad ass with a slight hint of the person Samuel L. Jackson wanted to be.-á |
