Since this became an IMDB message board all of a sudden, I'll chime in...
The movie sucked. It was SO BAD. But the special effects were great. A large number of people ended up liking it.
The only conclusion I draw is this: If you liked the movie, you're one of those people easily amused by big flashy lights and explosions. You probably liked Transformers, Fast & Furious, etc. If you disliked the movie, you were probably searching for good plot and acting content, and didn't find any. |

I'm a sucker for eye candy and interesting action sequences, so I enjoyed the film. Then again I also enjoyed John Carter of Mars and am quite bitter that it did so poorly against the Avengers at the box office, so there you have it. To carve a successful niche for yourself in EVE you need to be able to out sell, out produce, out fight,-á out run, or out wit your competitors. If you can do none of the above, your only option is to complain on the forums that somehow you are at a disadvantage using the exact same tool set-áas the rest of the player base. |

because making a spaceship in the shape of a bipedal species makes about as much sense as making a car in the shape of an octupus |

Or people who enjoyed the movie are artists who understand the levels and purposes of varying degrees of creative works and arts. It was no Shawshank Redemption or Forest Gump, never sought out to be. It is was it is. Giant robots fighting monsters. Without being a drawn out kid-hero-centric anime, or something with Godzilla and foam suits, or a feature film adaptation of Power Rangers. |

CCP, trading shiny pictures for playability since 2003.. EvE, a cutting edge game. The only game to provide Matrix style gameplay for the masses! (trouble is, most people don't have 9 hours to waste on a one hour fight.) |

I hold the movie to be evidence of its suckiness, if you can supply anything that supports the theory that it has "good", Ill happily peer-review your findings
It's a good movie, just not in the way you define 'good'. But it wasn't meant to be good in the way you're defining it, it was meant to be an enjoyable action flick. Not necessarily believable, not necessarily a "you gotta' see it" type of movie, just a fun and somewhat predictable movie.
Oh, and here's the findings...user ratings 7.2 isn't bad for imdb. |

What, we can't like it because it's an homage to every super robot show and every giant monster movie ever made?
Cause that's why I like it. Also, it's, well, fun! |

No I expect it to avoid dervative boring repetition that other things have done better and better characters than cookie-cutter all American ding-dangs from a director of that calibre Not to mention more interesting designs for the robots It actually made Cloverfield look competant. Still, it wasnt Iron Sky. It did have that going for it. Cloverfield was a good movie, and so was Pacific Rim. I have spoken. End of line...
