Hi all
Been away many years so not up to date on some aspects..
Why is Dust not on the xbox? Love a bit of FPS and to cross that in with EVE would be amazing . Dust looks good from what i have seen.
Not sure on how it works with our game yet but sounds all good so far |

Microsoft wanted to run everything through their own servers, and they wanted to charge a small fortune for each and every patch. |

Pretty much sums it up. Such a shame too. From what I heard, Dust was actually much stable in the X360 compared to being on the PS3. But Nooooooooooooo..... M$ just got too greedy. |

The patch thing has been proven countless times to be false.
The first half however, true. |

Are you sure? I thought it was the complete opposite. Sony offered a better deal for CCP because Microsoft's policies towards third party developers and RPG/MMOs in their Xbox Live system made it too expensive for indie companies like CCP. I think it was later mentioned that control of the server had little to do with it. |

They whole "10,000 per patch" bullshit was proofed false well over a year ago. |

I must have missed it then.
So this whole time it was all about control of the servers? |

Sony also offered to pitch in a pretty large chunk of capital for the exclusive title.
basically though Microsoft are ***** about patches servers and things that have to work with there services. CCP couldnt get what they want how they want. Sony said sure and offered some capital. Thus CCP went with sony.

I think you are just making stuff up.
CCP didnt make dust for xbox for the same reasons Valve abandoned xbox.
Microsoft want to charge for patches, control the roll out and call bug fixes dlc.
Its nothing new - its happened before and itll happen again because microsoft are not consumer friendly.
Consoles are all crap anyhow. Doesnt matter who makes them. If you want to get your soul to heaven, trust in me. Now don't judge or question. You are broken now, but faith can heal you. Just do everything I tell you to do. (Opiate - Tool) |

People can say what they will, but the real reason it is a PS3/4 exclusive is because the game was published, distributed, and co produced by Sony Entertainment. If you didn't know, Sony owns and makes the Playstation systems. The update things and hardware stuff are just people talking.
Xbox has and does have many console/PC crossovers that work well and don't charge. Live is also on the PC, and you can play the games with people cross platform. |

Sony published and distributed Dust 514, that it true. But Sony never co-produced the game. In fact, nowhere in CCP's official website did it ever mention that Sony has made any contribution towards the development of the game other than to help market the game. |
