Hello,
I recently made a trial account and was wondering if that account counts as being created on its trial activation period or when the account becomes a paying account. I am seriously considering using the new promotion (the power of 2) but if the account counts as being created when I started my free trial well, asking me to put out $70 all at once for seven months of play seems like a bit much and I believe I would be more inclinded to to the "one month on, one month off" subscription method instead. Whereas asking for $50 (via the refund grace period) for six months seems like a very attractive promotion but the rub lies in the fact that I don't know when the trial counts as an active account.
Personally I feel the trial activation should not count as a real account date do to the following reasons: 1) I used to have all fake into in the alt I am considering for this promo. Now I am being good and that is no longer the case and 2) The trial account isn't a full access account with many ships and items being barred from the player.
Someone point me in the right direction please? (I hope this is the correct forum. For this type of question.)

^2 is only active for current paying members, trial accounts can not sign up for this according to the FAQ on it.
See: What is the Power of Two promotion? The Power of Two (P^2) promotion is an offer from CCP Games to the EVE Community that will allow existing EVE Online subscribers an opportunity to open a new account at a greatly reduced subscription rate. What types of accounts can take advantage of this offer? Only active subscriptions. Trial accounts cannot take advantage of, nor can they be activated with the P^2 offer.

Thank you for trying to help but this isn't quite my question. I want to change a trial account into a real account but I am wondering if I will be able to use the refund if I take advantage of the Power of 2 offer as I will have activated a real account that used to be a trial account after Feb 23rd. But if CCP counts the account as being created when I started the trial it seems I am out of luck.

Can someone give me info on where to find this ^2 offer. I might decide to take up on it. -- My idea of an OS is one that Operates the System, not a complete package of every piece of software ever written. Computers created "The Paperless Office". But some stupid fool invented a printer |

I believe that it counts from when you start paying for the account. It's possible that you can simply use EVE^2 to upgrade the trial to a full account, not sure though. I would suggest emailing the support team, players will never be able to officially answer your querry. -- Originally by: Drayce Between the learning skills and the tutorial, Eve is like a firewall against the attention deficit kids.

Ah ok. I submited a ticket. I thought maybe GM's might read this forum.
Yeah Trial accounts arn't eligble for the upgrade but regular accounts are. I just need to know if I can get a $20 refund on my regular account or not. But I am unclear on when an account is considered "created" if it goes from a trial account to a regular account.

Edited by: ACHURION on 05/03/2006 14:44:36 Edited by: ACHURION on 05/03/2006 14:39:27 Yorda ,you are at trial account. You need to buy game (game time card credit card or other options, which you want,19.95 euro or $ with cc) and activate your account THEN you can use power of 2 option (other posters told about this already). in this situation you have 1 account you paid for 30 days and you are buying 2nd account for 6 months. i did not understand what you wanted to ask with saying 'refund'.(english is not my native language ) but you are buying 2 account with 70 $ 1 for 1 month and 1 for 6 months not 1 account for 7 months. if you are asking after payed for 2nd account can you take back first accounts money back(19.95) it is simple NO.You payed it for account for 30 days (use or dont) ccp will not refund it to you
if you want use 1 account for playing eve use regular way and activate your trial.if you will use 2 accounts then power of 2 is for you

I have a regular account right now ( Yorda ) and I have a trial account I want to upgrade to a regular account so I can then use the power of 2. They mentioned some refund but it seems I cannot use it. Oh well, time to spend a huge amount of money on Eve I guess. :\
Hope I am playing in seven months!

If you have a regualr account. IE paying month per month. (thus you already paid the $20) you would buy a power of 2 account, and go from there. In order to transfer your trial character to the power of 2, you effectivly have to buy it. I would stop wadting time on the trial account and just buy the power of 2 account.
Hope this helps.
