Eve is a good game (well it was). My story, I like to mine and manufacture stuff, you know the ammunition and rigs and other stuff that allows you to do missions and pvp.
I mine in high sec, salvage my little pirate kills and have led a generally happy life, until about 3 months ago. What happened then you ask, it appears that ganking miners in high sec is the new thing to do. I guess all the PvP, Wormholes, Null Sec is boring or something (don't know never been there).
Not a day goes by that someone either attempts to gank my ship or ganks it, I have pretty much given up trying to improve my fortunes, I can't even bother to log in anymore. I know what a sad piece of **** I am huh?
LULZ IT'S PVP DOOD, GTFO IF U DONT LIKE IT
Which si what I am doing, I amassed about 1.5 billion in net assets since I started playing (woooo, yeah you all have tons more than me).
I just wanted to post some feedback on the gameplay for future people that may join. 1) mining in it's current state is useless, sure you make make some isk, but overall you will get ganked and make no progress. 2) CCP does not enforce the rules of a negative security status (if someone is -10.0 they should be annihilated right away when entering empire space, instead they are allowed free reign - no punishment for killing others - I guess they make more money off these people).
Anyway a word of warning, increasing of gankage in high sec or even null sec killed mining, and pretty much killed any fun I had.
To those continuing have a good time, but off to the biomass processor for me. 1.5b going up in flames, CCP no more money from me, maybe if enough of us quit in protest you will fix something, but I doubt it.
Maybe you should try to move to WHs or null and do mining there. I mean you say you have never tried it + it doesnt matter who you pay right?

CCP will do something about it if it ever causes mass account cancellations, but that probably will never happen. People learn to adapt, just like you should OP. Make sure you tank your ships, don't go for yield. Also, mine in less populated systems. Even go for systems without a station.
Heck, even find a low security system somewhere that is rarely visited... there are plenty out there. I used to mine out in low sec all the time when I was new in those types of systems, and only got blown up once out there. There are even NPC 0.0 systems like that too if you know where to look. |

I understand where you are coming from OP, but i have no sympathy, i'm a new character i choose mining as my profession, i've been ganked ive been bumped etc etc, you pick yourself up and you get back to doing it, just because you choose the life of the industrialist does not mean you should also be free of the hazards a combat pilot has to endure.
You dont see the pvp pilots or the mission runners coming to the boards and complaining every time they loose a ship or get ganked (yes both actually get ganked as much as us miners), they brush themselves of get up an go back to it, i suggest you do the same, if you cant then im sorry but maybe its for the best that you do leave the game to those that can.
Get smart or get even, its not enough just to learn the skills to fly a mining ship i've learned the hard way you also need the skills to fly it and survive (of which im still learning lol)
Sorry if i seem harsh my friend but eve is a harsh cold universe |

Either that, or maybe it's the guy in that Procurer named "inconspicuous miner", who warped in, snuggled up cozily to your Exhumer at 500m and started mining...

How to be safe?
1. Get a Procurer/Skiff and fit it properly. 2. Look for low-traffic system, somewhere in the edge of high sec/dead end. 3. ?? 4. PROFIT
It's really not that difficult, even I, as person hating mining, can do it. |

The time you spent writing this whining post could be spent productively moving your stuff to a different system, away from the New Order bullshit. They can't be everywhere at once and there are plenty of systems that offer good mining opportunities. If you insist on mining in highly populated areas 1 jump away from a trade hub, well that's your own problem.

step 1: fit your barrage with tank. step 2: check dotlan for nice systems with station which you can 100% refine. step 3: check dotlan for: a. number of traffic into the system b. number of pod kills c. number of ship kills
now you will be gankers target much much much less then you are now.
it's natural selection dude, if you get ganked move to safer spot. "What's worse than a foul-mouthed eight-year-old constantly claiming he's had relations with your mother? I wish u good luck in your future gaming experiences living between C3 and C6 over the course of several years, we never lost a single miner except for 1, in fact, the ONLY reason we lost him was because he was a brit playing in US TZ, fell asleep at the keyboard in the grav, and got ganked along with 5 3's that had warped in to try and save him from the hostile fleet.

Seriously, I rarely ever see ganks. If you're constantly getting ganked, MINE SOMEWHERE ELSE. Seriously, I never EVER get ganked, my friends never do either. You are either mining in Hek or New Order space, and you can rest assured that you are now watchlisted by me and at least 50% of other posters in this thread. |

I mined for at least 5mo of my eve career. I remember the one time I was ganked. It was the venture I got from the tutorials and I was less than a month old. I raged and freaked the heck out in local....oh wait that must have been some other guy. I thought getting ganked was the most exciting thing that had happened yet to me in Eve. I made friends with that guy and scouted for him for awhile. Later I joined the New Order and learned all their secrets (#1 AFK miners can't warp out, #2 miners prize efficiency over tank so educate them) . I mined for another couple of months when I wasn't busy ganking the competition. Never was ganked myself because I didn't follow rules 1 & 2. I mined in a C3 wh as well because I'm a dumb guy that does that sort of thing. Wasn't ganked there either.
If I were you I would feel pretty bad that I was made such a little (insert pejorative reference) by some guys in a video game when everyone around you seems to be able to deal with it. I guess you should have just bought a permit. I'd think it would be a better outcome than this. I know violence isn't the answer. I got it wrong on purpose. |

Oh look it's this thread again... What doesn't kill you makes you stronger (you are immortal after all). So HTFU, and perhaps try to play EVE from the other side of the barrel. Miners are at the bottom of the food chain in EVE, it's as simple as that. You and only you can change that, so what's stopping you? |

So;
