I have just started playing and I'm really hooked,(my wife's filing for divorce) but i am bit worried about the depth, from reading the forums it seems to be about getting more isk and pvp. I'd hoped before signing up that there would be more ingame story and knowledge to be found about the past of the Eve universe. I read that exploration is going to be a new career path in a later patch. Does this kind of career path open up through agents at higher levels. I'm a slave to the ú in real life i don't want to be a slave to isk . |

You can certainly play the game without much ISK--the vast majority of PvPers fly ships that cost less than 10m most of the time...

My favourite ship in EVE to fly is the Incursus, and it costs 200k.
It can take out Interceptors though, quite comfortably :p
And hey, there is always ebay ------------------ The ISS Navy is recruiting.
See this thread for further details.

Corporations and alliances warring over territory, politics, trade, mining, pirating, bounty hunting, manufacturing, mercenary groups...... there's a lot of depth to EvE.

You can be my slave for 1M a day.
EvE mail me for the job description. Just remember for 1M, I expect you to do really boring things from time to time.

Sounds to me like you're interested in roleplaying?
There's many many corporations who play the game in such a way, for example there are corporations loyal to the Amarrian Empire, who fight people loyal to the Minmatar Republic. You should head over to the Intergalactic Summit forum or peruse the Corporation and Alliance Recruitment forum.
However, eve is very much what you make it. If you sit around doing nothing, expecting to be spoon fed content, this is not the game for you. What eve basically is is a giant arena which gives the players the mechanics to interact and play together on a level not seen before in any other game. While the game has a rich back story and a team of volunteers acting out various large and small stories in the galaxy, the majority of content is player created.
On the subject of isk, it really isn't that important, it just makes things slightly easier - you can spend billions of isk on a Dreadnought and lose it to a group of well organised people flying ships worth a fraction of that. It's all down to the players.
