Hi guys,
There are many things that are currently wrong with supers. Couple of friends and I were having a discussion regarding the issue and came up with some ideas ranging from silly to actualy pretty decent ones. I would like to share some of the decent ones.
IDEA #1: Owning a SC these days means having a piece of expensive dead meat taking one of your character slots. You are either using one of your main characters to babysit your precious lump of scrap metal, which renders it (besides those few time you are actualy using it) utterly useless, or you have to buy a SC sitter which is not cheap either and still stupid.
SOLUTION: There should be some way to store your supers, so you can actualy use you characters for other things than just stay logged off in it. One of the ideas is to introduce some kind of SC hangar array. Only one can be anchored in POS and only 1 SC can be stored withing the array. Furthermore only ONE array can be allowed per non-upgraded solar system. A new upgrade in infrastructure HUB should be introduced which increases number of arrays in system by one per level (lvl 5 max).
Reasoning behind this idea is: If you want have huge ammount of supers, you should be forced to hold SOV over multiple systems/constelations. It would also introduce new tactical opportunities, and most of all, it would free your enslaved SC sitter!
IDEA #2: Carriers could use some more love. Especially when it comes to their roles. Currently they have 3: Ratting with sentries, PVP with sentries (slowcats) and serving as an overgrown Logi. Oh and Nidhoggur has special role bonus: 100% Chance of being primaried.
SOLUTION: Introduction of T2 carriers with specialized EWAR roles. Generaly they should have considerably lower HP than T1 carriers (up to 50% reduction) but increased resistances (similar to what Marauders currently have when not in bastion )and limited drone bay. Ewar bonuses should stick to current racial bonuses and should be applicable only to Capitals and Supercapitals on field. Also they should be 3-4x more expensive than their T1 counterparts since they would bring huge advantage to the field.
Amarr: Neutralization bonus Range/Amount Minmatar: well here im not completely sure since webs and paints wont rly help against supers :P. (mby some bubble bunus) Gallente: Dampening + Scram bonus Caldari: I know i will chatch hell for this but still - ECM bonus (still imagine Titan pilots screaming and whining when they get ECMed :D - priceless! )
If you got to this part, thank you for reading and please try to restrain from trolling me too much :)
I will appreciate any and all constructive feedback or more ideas.
Thanks
Eli

Capital Ship Maintenance Arrays can already be used to store supercaps, and these can be deployed in any low/null POS.
As for buffing carriers.. no.. death to all capital ships.

for the first suggestion, I feel pretty sure that there has been talk of a station/sov upgrade that allows the system's station to store caps. Make it expensive-ish such that alliances won't want to shell out for storing them in EVERY station they own.
For the second suggestion, you forgot their most important role: hauling your **** and ships across the cluster. Your suggestion to have low-ehp ewar carriers is pretty bad. "CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"

Option one already exists, like Xearal said, and option two is just downright pointless. |

"Oh and Nidhoggur has special role bonus: 100% Chance of being primaried." - Hehe.
"Amarr: Neutralization bonus Range/Amount, Tracking disruption" - I am afraid this might be either OP or useless. The neut bit that is. Either its so good people fly loads of these and decide every battle with them, or they become so bad no one flys them because they can't neut more than one or several Bhaalgorn supported by triage archon.
I'd really like to see more capital content. Somehow make more capital ships that won't just be worse or better for existing roles (if they are worse we don't use them, if they are better we don't use their old role counterparts, so the amount of capital content in use is the same). New capitals for new roles.
Let me suggest one: T2 carrier: -Clone vat bay for up to 50 clones that people can jump to from any other clone-transferrable station or Titan or T2 carrier. -Cargo that can hold lets say 20 fully fitted frigates. -Can triage the ships it has launched. -Can resupply (ammo, bombs, nano paste) to the ships it launched (small drone exits the carrier and goes slowly over to the ship to be resupplied, then goes back). -Somewhat useful sized ammo cargo-hold (cap charges also as ammo). -You can dock with the T2 carrier, and then get launched from it, even if you did not get launched from that carrier originally. -When you jump into a battle you can undock 20 frigs. But other frigs on field can dock to your carrier, and then launch from your T2 carrier. So you can have more than 20 ships under your command from one T2 carrier. -If you go out of triage mode the frigs that are connected to your T2 carrier has to dock and relaunch before you can triage and resupply them. -Connected frigates get some bonuses, so disconnecting from T2 carrier due to the T2 carrier going out of triage/dieing causes them to be less effective. Each race can have its own bonuses to connected frigates. A small bonus to armor hp and EM damage is an example for amarr ships (bigger chance you can land the rep in time and increased dps also for bombers). -Triage mode obviously gives to T1 comparable bonuses, except you can rep and give cap at longer ranges (but you can only triage your own frigs). -Since you can only repair 20-ish ships, not other ships, you get a more powerful tank and cap recharge rate. -Only connected frigs can refit from T2 carrier.
T2 Supercarrier: -Clone vat bay for up to 100 clones that people can jump to from any other clone-transferrable station or Titan or T2 carrier. -Cargo that can hold lets say 50 fully fitted frigates, or 30-35 destroyers, or 20 cruisers (numbers would really be decided by testing). -Can triage the ships it has launched. -Can resupply (ammo, bombs, nano paste, cap charges) to the ships it launched (small drone exits the carrier and goes slowly over to the ship to be resupplied, then goes back). -Somewhat useful sized ammo cargo-hold. -You can dock with the T2 supercarrier, and then get launched from it, even if you did not get launched from that carrier originally. -When you jump into a battle you can undock 50 frigs, 30-35 destroyers or 20 cruisers. But other frigs, dessies and cruisers on field can dock to your carrier, and then launch from your T2 supercarrier. So you can have more than 50 ships under your command from one T2 supercarrier. -If you go out of triage mode the frigs that are connected to your T2 supercarrier has to dock and relaunch before you can triage and resupply them. -Connected frigs, dessies, cruisers, get some bonuses, so disconnecting from T2 supercarrier due to the T2 supercarrier going out of triage/dieing causes them to be less effective. Each race can have its own bonuses to connected ships. A small bonus to armor hp and laser damage is an example for amarr ships (bigger chance you can land the rep in time and increased dps). -Triage mode obviously gives to T1 comparable bonuses, except you can rep and give cap at longer ranges (but you can only triage your own ships). -Since you can only repair 50-ish ships, not other ships, you get a more powerful tank and cap recharge rate. -Only connected ships can refit from T2 supercarrier. -T2 supercarrier can dock in station (slightly smaller than T1 supercarrier and less passive tank, but more active tank ability). While it is docked it gives station clone vat bay for corpies?
T3 supercarrier! -Clone vat bay for 30 clones. -everything else the same as for T2. -Can only have X number of fitted battleships (10?) in it and can only dock and launch battleships. -Can be anchored like mobile depot if no other ship or structure within 250km radius. 24 hour reinforced mode (when shield is down, after 24 hour then you can kill it entirely). Password to enter the pilot seat, anyone with standing can make a clone and/or transfer to the clones in the ship. Maybe all T2 carriers should also be able to anchor themselves with Reinforced mode etc? Why not all capitals? Logging off in them makes them invulnerable and totally safe just as long as you don't log on in them. But reinforced would make more of them go boom. Since you can find them and attack them and force a confrontation. |

please fix the niddy.I love it but it sucks. It doesn't fit the role it's supposed to effectively enough to be chosen over other ships. I don't know if it's lack of focus or just horribad stats overall. |

getting tired of all the amarr ships getting shoved with neuts, why dont any other races get some ass sysem as their "weapon"? everything amarr has gotten is viable boats turned into drone and neut ships, more drone ships added, and CCP still hasnt fixed what was supposed to be their primary weapon system. on top of that we dont even have an 8-slot T1 battleship anymore, because apparently gaining a mid for "lul moar cap boosters" is all the fix lasers needed |

It does its roll just fine. ......as long as nothing is shooting at it.
Oh yeah, and they are auto-primary, always. |
