The signups for the New Eden Open II, a cash prize tournament with a total prize pool of $25,000, are drawing closer and CCP Gargant would like to inform you about the exact rules and signup procedures so that you and your team can prepare in time.

sad to see the removal of shield tinker setups :( so marauders are the new flagships minus the faction mods any chance of removing drone assist mechanic either just for the tourney or on TQ permanently? Tech 3's need to be multi role ships not cruiser hulls with battleship tank and insane resists ABC's are clearly T2 in all but name.. remove drone assist mechanic AB's need a buff-á like a big mass reduction ..... module tiercide FTW role based instead of tiers please. |

Important rule changes to note:
No energy transfers One marauder loss per team for the whole tournament Up to two logistics frigates allowed as an option instead of a normal logi cruiser Several significant point changes, especially to Marauders and Stealth Bombers
All decisions were made to create the most interesting environment for 8 person teams, since breaking strong tanks is tougher with fewer players.

Removal of drone assist? Hell hasn't frozen over yet.
Good changes though, the logi frigates may actually make a showing. Stabbers are totally broken

Can we please get the bastion module restricted too?
Otherwise I expect the fights look similar to this:
2 Marauders sitting at the center beacon, doing whatever they want thanks to ewar immunity, while the rest of the ships fighting over winning on points. Because no team can expect to break the hostile 4k DPS self tank marauder in the middle |

I'm assuming the latter is correct. Best to fix it as we have many rules lawyers. |

still 12 player allowed. 12 player = 12 character. 1player can have endless characters in a team up to the limit of 12.

That is correct. You can have a maximum of 12 characters on a team. Your team can include more than one character owned by the same real life person if you wish.

When is the deadline for declaring all our team members - it states we can send out invites to team members (declare our team members) starting January 7th when team signups begin. At what point in time can we no longer send out invites to team members?
Can we change who is on our team between the announcement of the auction/raffle winners (Jan. 24th) and the start of the actual tournament (March 1st)? For example, say someone has to drop out of the team completely mid-February, can we declare a replacement pilot for them?
Also, as stated in original blog comments thread, please reconsider the limit of 12 characters on the team... 14 or 16 would be much better!

I'd like to request a clarification. The devblog states:

I understand that spider tanking is not allowed, but does the term "logistics ship" apply only to ships whose role is logistics? For instance can a team field an 8-short-rep battleship instead of a traditional long-rep logistics cruiser? Additionally, the Nestor is supposed to be released in late January, and it will certainly count as a logistics ship (albeit a point-expensive one) in normal engagements in TQ, can it be fielded with RR modules in the tournament? And to confirm, it does count as a Pirate Faction Battleship as far as points, right? |

The term logistics ship in the rules refers only to the four tech two cruisers that are part of the "logistics ship" category and require the "logistics ships" skill.
No battleships will be allowed to fit remote reps, even the Nestor.
In larger formats like the Alliance Tournament we may allow Nestors as remote rep ships for tournament teams but in this smaller format we must be more restrictive in what repair functions we allow to ensure a fun tournament. If your team gets one of the spots that are given out in the raffle, you do not get the initial 5 PLEX back. Anything you submit in the bid is not taken from you, however.
