I was wondering, other than PVP what could I do for fun? Missions get repetitive and mining is boring within 5mins. Its not that I dont want to PVP, as I spend a fair amount of time in fleets, I just want to find something else to do in cheap ships for fun which doesn't depend on other players as much. |

Post with your main, pansy ;)
OP : You could try wormhole exploration, although this can occasionally come with PvP. I don't just mean sites i mean activeley learn to move through multiple wormhole chains. Learn to use mapping features and if you come across an empty wormhole you can sell it. The skills you'll learn while you check to see if anyone lives in each hole, how many stations, what defences etc will all help toward making you self sufficiant in other dangerous areas of the game.
It's a difficult question because every area of eve famously has a PvP element. The alt-posting pansy above is correct that learning to make PvP as safe for yourself as possible is something you eventually pick up in EvE. No doubt he also became averse to the risk inherant in this game and gradually moved to only attack the fat and defenceless, likely out of fear of losing his own shiny toys.
Remember that even the most hopeless PvP scenario can be fun if you aren't worried about losing your ship. Comedy PvP frigs can be built for under 2Million ISK in total, i'd be happy even to give you some.
Other ideas are the various static sites dotted around eve that provide various different ratting and exploration style challenges.
To start you off, go check out the "Skelleton Comet" in Deltole. It's a series of rooms with varying difficulty rats that keep spawning, and one room as i remember where you fight spawns while you hack cans that can be very profitable if done correctly. Tank Kin/Therm since you be fighting Gallente rats.
Hope it helps o/ BUDDY TRIALS - 21days + ISK bonus + Starting Assistance : https://secure.eveonline.com/trial/?invc=77facad8-d941-45ad-95bc-c1ec90919b6b&action=buddy Feel free to contact me with questions :) |

Thanks, I already have ships for PVP and I am happy to do PVP, however I want something else to do when the warzone is quiet, although I would like to do wormholes but I like flying small ships, and wormholes in a frig wont go well... |

True. To some missions and mining isn't the way to get fun.
And as you want to do some solo stuff.
Take a look at exploration (in low-sec, null-sec or wormholes). Or maybe just try your hand on a bit of solo PvP. Want to have some chat in game? Need help to get into the game as a new player? Just join my channel: Crazy Dutch Guy |

I enjoy market work. I never would have thought I'd enjoy that... Or the spreadsheeting that went with it, but I do.
I also like being involved in the large player factions, who play for keeps. The so-called 'meta' is incredible.
Out in Null-sec, where I live, people make their money largely by taking ships out in the belts and anomalies and shooting down the rats for big bucks, but when they've got enough money to satisfy them(and sometimes even when they're poor), they band together to roam out into the neighbor's space and run down whoever they can. Occasionally, you'll see organized mining ops, too.
Everything is better with a group. If I hadn't found a good, functional corp, I'd have quit.

Cheap ships and solo fun that is not pvp? Well a frig can do data and relic sites or scouting. Not sure what your idea of fun is though with frigates that does not involve pvp. As far as wormholes go, good luck with a cheap frig. If you would be willing to use cruisers or something that costs more then yeah, all the other exploration sites and wormhole pve opens up for you. |

Give yourself some goals to work toward that doesn't simply involve wait for skill "x"
It can be a battleclinic rank It can be building and supporting a high sec POS It can be buying and building a certain ship from Blueprint including modules It can be deciding you will run data sites in null without docking for a week. It could be learning how to get to said null sec using wormholes It can be your corp infiltration Your first scam Your first billion from mission lp Get a hardcore role player to break character Get into a character via role play. Try to get the highest bounty Try to collect the highest bounty.
Etc etc.
With setting your own goals, this game can get old quick. That's the peril and beauty of the sandbox. Make your own theme park. |

Make ISK. http://www.reddit.com/r/Bravenewbies/comments/1sar24/brave_isk_making_ideas/ PvP Ships. https://wiki.goonfleet.com/index.php?title=Recommended_Skill_Training_Guide Faction Warfare. Really, the sky is the limit. This is a sandbox, not a themepark. You create your own content and fun. What one person finds fun, another may not. Mining for example. Some people have families who were lost due to asteroids hitting their planets so they want to take revenge on the remaining asteroids and as many of those as possible therefore they mine. But others may deem mining to be boring and feel exploration is where the fun is. Its not up to us to say what is fun for you, but I can certainly tell you what is fun for me. Maybe this will help. http://images.mmorpg.com//images/galleries/full/052011/59040f2c-3f3e-47b7-97f0-f42a3e7249eb.jpg |

As it hasn't been mentioned yet:
You can become a tourist. There are many in-space monuments in EVE that some find interesting to visit. It can be done in any ship, but as many of them are in low- and null-sec, a CovOp or Interceptor will work better to get you there in one piece.

I used to have an alt back when we started with 800k SP I skilled trained for 12hours after that just enough to use a warp scram and a few other things. I loaded up frigs with the cheapest equipment I could get my greedy hands on, setup a couple cans in systems I frequent to resupply instead of jumping a few systems over to a station.
Than I proceeded to shoot EVERYONE I saw no matter what ship they were in, it was quite a bit of fun. I caught and held a BS pilot for around 20min who ended up getting backup from a few of his buddies who he dragged out of other games and woke up just to take out my lone Rifter. I think I ended up with various cruisers, BS's, destroyers, and 1-2 T2 ships that showed up just to kill me .
So yeah there is quite a bit of fun to be had. You could also get bored and start podding pilots in high sec who think it's a great idea of autopilot in a pod (like some -10's do, or the people who get popped in Jita, Ammar, Rens, etc and you get the pod). Ninja the suicide gankers loot just to annoy them. Scamming, stealing, the list goes on.
Market PVP is quite interesting as well. I have crashed markets just for pure entertainment purposes. As a side bounus they all got rid of their products cheap which left me as the main supplier without any real competition for about a month so it was pure profit after that. 1isk games also annoy the crap out of people, it's quite easy to do as well if you are just relaxing on youtube, listening to music, etc. All you have to do is be logged in and glance up and refresh the orders and change them occasionally. Welcome to Eve. Everyone here is an Evil Sick Sadistic Bastard who is out to get you. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either trying to scam you or use you. |

Eve is a social game, and you'll find the universe opening up even further when you start to engage more directly with people. Get in a corp that does things you like, so you get to nerd over your favorite subject matter with others. A good way to improve your own performance and to get some peer review. If you like to socialize, become a recruiter for your corp. |

One of the best things about joining a player corp is that it helps you meet new people - and makes it totally legal for you to blow up their spaceships, loot the wrecks, and send them back to their cloning bay.
There are risks associated with the AWOX piracy lifestyle, however - I know one person that once joined a corp intending to steal everything they could and blow up or ransom anything they couldn't steal - poor guy ended up making friends with the marks and becoming a permanent member of their corporation. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238931 - an idea for a new form of hybrid PVE/PVP content. Fleet up.
Explore the various fleet roles in depth, fleet composition theory, and even try FC'ing! Do it all from the safety of PvE content like missions....
Combat PvE- like missions- should be used as a training ground for fleet actions, and eventually PvP. It rarely is because it is so easily solo'd that it becomes a 'waste' to share the loot and have to coordinate with other players when you can semi-afk virtually anything outside of an Incursion by yourself. It's a wasted opportunity.
The missions chat channel should look like an Incursion chat-- a bunch of LFF, a mission level, and a ship fitting. It's seen as a completely different thing but really Incursions are just high end PvE like an anom on steroids. There's no reason missions/anoms shouldn't be a place for newer players to fleet up and experiment with little fear of loss.
Consider FC'ing a couple friends. If everyone could solo the rat fleet, then even a first time FC will be hard pressed to get anyone killed. Use that to learn basic fleet functions like fleet warping everyone to the mission/anom, broadcasting targets or for reps, setting up watchlists, anchoring on the FC, practicing good voice comms......it's not PvP, but it's a bunch of the little stuff that gets used all the time in every fleet.
Try using logi, try spider tanking, compare sniping versus brawling, use drone assist.....there is an incredible depth to Eve's ship and fleet design that awaits nothing more than clicking JOIN FLEET (or even better, create one yourself and FC like a boss)
