I've been to all types of Space in EVE from 1.0 to 0.0 And most System's have people there saying they own that System and they either tell you nicely or aggresively to get out! or join there Corp if you plain on staying (or basically they grief you for as long as it takes or can)
To the people mentioned, you are pathetic sad little infants with a brain of a 4yr old and I can't understand how Mummy & Daddy let you even near there PC.

Welcome to eve. Theres plenty of space... over 5000 systems in the cluster. Its not hard to branch out. _____________________________________ Stressed out with empire politics?

lol. There is a little thing called Sovereignty. Before you tell them grow up, learn about the game.
Now if you want to contest there Sovereignty go ahead. But some corps and espicially the bigger alliances can certainly enforce their claim of ownership. _____________________________________

I believe he's referring to hotshots who post "leave our turf or die" billboard cans in 0.2 space.

0.0 is claimable, empire space on the other hand is just someone trying to strongarm people out.

What kind of space are we exactly talking about here? Empire or 0.0?

Can you back your claim with arguments please?
If some party has the power to kick you out they has the power to do so. That's the whole point in power. To force somebody to do something.
Luckyly EVE is not a sandbox where your parents sit at the side and protect you. You have to and _are_able_to_ fight for your rights.

0.0 space is claimble, it is claimed with POSs since POSs = Soverignty in 0.0, im not surprised a few corps would consider building a POS in 0.2 space tantamount to owning the system afterall, they've sunk in alot of ISK building that POS, they had better guard it jelously and that includes ganking every single potential spy coming their way ---------------------

Just because its "empire" space doesn't mean that a corp will like to see you treading on their sphere or influence. It even seems these days that "carebears" are feeling the pinch because of all the clustering. Some production corps might not like some other corp coming into their sphere of influence and strip mining the area.
Thats whats great about eve, if you got the power to keep people out then you can "own" a system. I saw a thread about carebear on carebear hate.. it seems to finally be going to the next lvl. You wanna mine their and they say no, mine anyway, make them war dec you, or heck war dec them yourself and make it a surrender condition or something. Lots and lots of options here.

This is a competitive game. 0.0 space is a highly valued resource. There is a permissable PvP system so that people can fight to defend certain systems if they want.
None of this is an accident. CCP's philosophy is that players are the most interesting thing in an MMO - the politics, blood feuds, and friendships that form over battling for a scarce resource are what creates the social atmosphere of the game. If you don't like it, stick to Empire and run missions alone - or for a better PvE experience, go play WoW.

Um.... Thank you?
Anyway, I look forward to podding you next time you enter Tribute. I don't have a problem with corps claiming 3 or 4 systems, what irritates the hell out of me are the ones that try to claim the 300 systems behind their one choke point system that they actually have members in reliably.
As a corp its just silly to try to claim a chokepoint system, and then tell people to get out when they are just passing through to try to get 15 jumps behind the system your in.
Its also silly to claim 300 systems behind said chokepoint when you know good and well know that no one from your own corp will ever actually use %98 of those systems.
I have no problem respecting corporations claims on territory, but not when its a chokepoint system or one of the 300 behind it.
The whole concept of chokepoint systems just infuriates me. You have all that dead space back there that alot of people would actually LOVE to use, but you can never get to it because one corp lives in the chokepoint system and claims it and everything behind it, not because they use it, but because they can since that system is one of the only ways in.
Take as much space as your gunna use, but don't claim 300 systems just because its convenient because you control one of the only routes into it. In essence the only system you really have a "claim" to is the camped system, and any other systems where you REGULARLY have members doing stuff.
Just my 2 isk.

Technically, none of us own anything. CCP owns everything in eve but in game some corps can selectively deny resorces to others, they can be said to own that said resource its jsut the way ownership works, in the real world, the strength of law define what resources we can deny to other since there is no law in 0.0-0.4, it is left to the strength of our guns to define ownership though you can argue that custom might define ownership, that ownership is a puerly cultural thing the fact is that eve culture lets corps do this, and you frankly are relatively inexperienced in said culture
you are very much welcomed to rant and rave about how its un fair, you are very much welcomed to try storm Feythabolis, for the resources you claim belong to everyone. But for the former, we have the right to disagree with your points, and for the latter we have the right, and more importantly the ability, to destroy your ship, and send you back to the clone bay Without getting a single unit of veld
We shall hold what we claim ---------------------
