Sounds fun. I can use T2 sentries and i have very good support drone skills. Where can i sign for blob warfare again? A drone assisting drones to another drone. Droneception. |

They ARE working on lag. Things have gotten way better since I joined EVE seven years ago. And they are continuing to work on it (see Brain in a Box). If you think lag will ever go away completely, you're dreaming. Even if CCP had a supercomputer the size of Chribba's manhood, there would still be lag. Lag is a complex problem. |

It's good to hear that it is still actively being discussed. To carve a successful niche for yourself in EVE you need to be able to out sell, out produce, out fight,-á out run, or out wit your competitors. If you can do none of the above, your only option is to complain on the forums that somehow you are at a disadvantage using the exact same tool set-áas the rest of the player base. |

Funny how when you hire only dev's from blob-sec alliances, and have a CSM dominated by the blob-sec alliances, that the game development is skewed wildly towards the blob-sec style of play over all other playstyles.
Funny how that works. Most people viewed Orwell's writings as a warning. The harper regime and the goons treat them as a guidebook. |

The one true staying power of Eve is that by the time you realize how the game really works ( 8+ years playing ) its too late. You have too much invested in the game to stop playing so u just put up with the ebb and flow of players coming and going and the crap tidi/game crashes.
As the years have gone by you see less and less players. Sure you have spurts of activity but I think on the whole the player base has been dropping for some time.
I love Eve and will be here till the last bit of life is left in the servers, there is no other game out there like it but to be honest that doesn't make Eve immune to the bugs that plague every other online game just here it hurts a bit more. |

Funny you mention that. Flew a Vindi for the 1st time last night. (not my own). And I used Null a lot. Great ammo.
As for hating null....hardly. I hate the people that have twisted the meta of null sec into something that the vast majority of the Eve sub base, let alone the world's gaming community, consider an insane waste of time.
For a time, while I was still young and utterly naive about the game, I wanted to be Emperor of Eve. I knew that path led through null sec.
But given what I see the true emperor of Eve is, I realize that not only could I never achieve that position, I no longer want it given the vile depths one must sink to in order to reach that goal. I sure would like his income streams though. Most people viewed Orwell's writings as a warning. The harper regime and the goons treat them as a guidebook. |

Your band-aid solution to lag is , to put it mildly, crap. You seem to have no plan for bringing in new players, and I think you've probably hit the limit on milking your existing customers with your non-stop push to get more alts. Game not responding to control input. This is becoming a real annoyance, when you click something, most people generally expect it to work the first time. 85 pages on the gate warp tunnel, and you seem incapable of adding something as simple as a toggle switch.
I actually liked a few features on the latest patch, and some of the balancing has been long overdue, but there are more pressing matters. All you have to do is look at eve-offline.net to see how much of a failure the last patch was, the bump was anemic at best, and numbers are falling off quickly. Even your 99 cent alt sale seems to have had little effect. You can claim that everything is fine, and subscriptions are growing, but since you don't share that data, people can only go by activity, and activity has clearly dropped off. If their weren't a major war in 0.0, i wonder how much worse online numbers would be?
Get back to working on game play CCP, you've spent far too much time on shiny pictures and it's beginning to show.
I looked at the statistics on eve-offline... when the graph is taller on the right hand side than on the left hand side it normally shows growth. You might have been confused by that. |

So basically EVE has a one-of-a-kind style of game play and sets itself apart from other MMOs. I can't tell what you're trying to say here cause you don't make a claim. This post was loving crafted by a member of the Official GoonWaffe recruitment team. |

You know you have no proof about anything related to "the vast majority of the EVE sub base". it smacks of "false consensus thinking". The healthier outlook is to understand that other people (MOSt other people) aren't like you or me and that this is ok.
In other words, speak for yourself, because that's the only person you can speak for.

More seriously , it honestly seems that jealously is a motivation here, in this case jealousy at the fact that deep down you probably know that even if all things were equal you could never have recruited near as many people to your banner as "that other guy" could have and quit (and became insanely bitter) rather than try risk failure. The pinning the cause of your refusing to even try on some deep vast conspiracy and misconduct is just you trying to make yourself feel better.
The pity is that The game (YOUR GAME, hell everyone's game) would have been better had you (and people like you) had actually tried and failed.Very many people look at the mountain that is "teh Goons" and give up without even putting on their climbing boots, and that's a damn shame in a video game because the only thing you could lose is time, pixels and space money (and only one of those 3 has any real value). |

At one time, BoB was too big to fail, and going up against them was just a worthless endeavor. Wasn't even worth trying to get into the null game, SirMolle held the reins and you played by his rules or got stomped. They even had blatant dev favoritism on their side!
As we can see by the complete dominance that BoB holds over the sov map today, it's utterly impossible for anyone to oust an entrenched null alliance. There's just no way to gather a group together to challenge the status quo.
On a more personal matter, Happy Holidays Jenn! The risk of having your day ruined by other people is the cornerstone with which EVE was built and we want to keep that (infact, this is much more representative of the consensus opinion within CCP). |

Banking on the "1000 man versus 1000 man epic battles" aspect was a mistake from the beginning.
It's amazing though, to see complaints about TiDi. Years ago, it was "I jumped in, got a black screen for 5 minutes, then I was in the clone vat". TiDi at least lets you die uselessly in slow motion.
But my point is that the "epic battles" aspect of a space MMO is more befitting a Star Wars genre. What makes Eve attractive is that deep dark space feeling, a kind of dystopia. But people were raised on Star Wars, and so they wanted huge fleet fights, and no mechanics were put in place to prevent that. Arbitrary mechanics to prevent it would have appeared dumb.
But there were chances. There could have been "too many ships locking one ship causes intermittent lock break or failure to lock". But instead it was blob versus blob click-F1. They had to have the jump gates and cnynos to make movement of entire solar-systems worth of material happen in mere minutes. They had to have infinite resources so that blob-o-rama was even possible.
The game got sold on this Star Wars approach, which is fine for George Lucas and the audience, while having a sci-fi B movie feel, Jack Burton crossed with Firefly. We could have argued that it does not fit, back and forth.
But the limitations of the servers had the final say.
Were I at the controls I would have said "we have to decide: is this going to be deep dark dystopic space or epic fleet battles right outside the door?" and I would have forced a decision years ago, and driven development towards it.
I think there are factions in the direction of the game. A lot of newer content does imply exploration and small-gang PVP and one of the points of Rubicon was "guerilla warfare". It does seem like the game is headed away from epic fleet wars, but too much of the old mechanics and "ways of being" and those clinging to them are still around.
And even if correctly done, that's a lot of inertia to overcome. I'm glad that all I have to do is pay my 15 bucks and not have to worry about these things, but we should have some respect for those who do, as this is no easy task.

Please apply to CCP and convince them you are capable of fixing all the issues in eve. Clearly you, and everyone who points out problems can do what the people currently can't do at CCP.
However, if you have no idea on how to fix issues THEN DON'T BOTHER COMPLAINING.
It's one thing to question mechanics, to point out flaws, and a another to actually HELP. Giving CCP the support of "this is not cool and here why, and this is what I would like to see" Vs "**** this and kill yourselves" is what is needed. |
