Hi Halada,
Just wanted to say thanks - I regularly disseminate the information here to day one players in belts! And if they're in the wrong belts, then I point them to the right ones

This is a very useful topic. I love all the information posted here. It really helped me with choosing my Barge setups.

You don't use forums all that much do you? a sticky means its already at the top of the forum...
On topic anyway.
Maybe include a section with maxed out hauler setups?
For example the top 3. Itty V the Occator and that Caldari one I forget the name of right now :/ --------------

Also: if you don't have someone to refine for you, it's worth going to t2 strippers and at least t1 crystals while you are in a retriever as you need almost that to get a good refine anyway.

I've been reading the guide for quite a while, and am trying to outfit my Domi using quickfit to meet your specs as listed. Unfortunately i'm finding that I just cant produce enough cap to run everything. I run into CPU trouble also, and am forced to overcome it by using named and tier 2 cap rechargers along with level 5 in some of the cap skills. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to tell me what skills are needed to run the domi at the specs listed forever? I just cant seem to figure it out. Unless quickfit is just completely wrong, it takes me tier 2 cap rechargers and cap skills at 5, with some named modules to make everything fit and run (including mining lasers).
Edit: Here's the listed specs that i'm speaking of. Hi- 6x Miners II
Med- 5x Eutectic Cap Rechargers
Low- 2x Accodomation Large Armor Repairers 2x Capacitor Power Relays 2x Microcell Nanite Explosive Hardener 1x Microcell Nanite Kinetic Hardener
Thanks guys :)

My Electronic/Engineering skills are at Level 4, but this is the Dominix loadout I use Dominix Mining Barge and I've yet to encounter any cap problems.
I've since added some ECM to the mix, but still no cap problems with no cap rechargers. ___________________

Hello and thanks for the topic, what a great help.
I have a question though about the way to go from the first fregate to the Hulk Exhumer.
I understood that the first goal is to go for Retriever which is the first great barge. But when you achieve the Retriever, what is the best strategy from your point of view ?
Choice 1 : Increase Archeo and Mining barge and go for Covetor. (Around 40 days with medium skills) ?
Choice 2 : Increase refining and mining and go for T2 Strip Miner with crystals ?
Thanks your help,

Appreciate it bud, but sadly I am looking for my domi to tank 0.0 rats as I mine nearby with my Covetor. I found that I can almost make the suggested tank run, but if I train the skills needed for t2 armor reps(not needed really but still) they push me over my cap limit and the tank fails. My current "best simulation" with this in quick fit offers me the tank and three miner II's online. I'm just curious as to what skills i'm missing to fix the tank :) have all the electronics/engy to 4(electronics 5) and it just being a beast.

/bow for the guide!
Oooooook.
So if you actually read through the pages of replies there is a lot of contradictory information... I wonder if someone could clarify which implants you want for which roles. Basic setup: One pilot in BC, one pilot in Hulk.
So some people are saying BOTH pilots get the mindlink implant... others not.
So for the BC Would you get the +5% yield implant and the mindlink implant?
and then for the Hulk (and any additional hulks) Would you get both the +5% yield implants?
I apologize profusely if this was fixed in the guide and/or in the replies, theres just so much contradictory info.
Thanks.

My instinct when I got to those cross roads was to go for the larger barge.
I have exhumer 5 completed a few months ago and have the nesscary components for a good hulk tank and skill training nearly completed.
Personally I would leave the T2 lasers for the moment. The bonus from them does not outweight the extra strip miner you get from a covetor. (Also its annoying having to cycle your lasers in a retriever, man I loved it once I was in my covetor) --------------

Is there a guide anywhere that shows what is the best ore to mine for profit?
For example when I'm mining I figure I can make 2mil/hour mining Pyroxers, 4mil/hour mining Omber, and 3mil/hour mining Jaspet.
This is selling the minerals for isk. Figuring in the size of the ore and the refine size needed makes my head hurt and there is no point in recreating the wheel.
Thanks, Jacq

Edited by: Inquisitor Berthez on 01/10/2006 21:54:06 I dont know if this has been mentioned before, but in my experience the strip miners mine (base value) 540m¦ instead of 540 units of the specific ore. .
Too lazy to make the sig any better. |

Anybody tried to run the numbers on a T2 mining crystal fitted 8xMDCMIIs plus mining upgrades tier 3 Caldari BS (add drones and gang bonus into the equation). I somewhat "fear" it could even outmine the Hulk :) __ Always question everything. Including yourself. |

I can't seem to get the below fittings, taken from part 8 of this guide, to fit. I run out of CPU even with Electronics at level 5. Am I missing some thing??

Med- 1x Gistii-A Small Shield Booster 1x Eutectic Cap Recharger 2x NPC Specific Hardeners (T1 NAMED or GIST)
Low- 2x Mining Upgrades

you never included what would happen if you trained drone interfacing 5 and used a
mining forman drone link coordinator as a gang modual
Increases the yield of the gang's mining drones.
Foreman Links are dedicated mining operation systems designed to assist foremen in coordinating their operations. While only one of these units can normally be operated at any given time, certain advanced units allow the use of multiple systems.
Note: Gang effects don't stack. The strongest effect overrides all others.

Update about the mindlink implant.
Test configuration:
Hulk pilot with maxed skills (exhumers 5, and of course all other mining skills to 5), stripers II + tech2 crytals, HX-2 and michi implant, 2x mining upgrade fitted; in gang with a character flying a ferox, mining director 5, mining foreman 5, squadron command 4, mining foreman gang module active, mindlink implant fitted.
Results:
1740 mc x each laser, cycle time 142 seconds.
Comment:
The gang module works as intended. The HX-2 and the michi implants works as intended. The foreman skill work as intented. The mindlink implant doesnt work as intended: it do work about boosting the gang module thus reducing the cycle time, but it doesnt increase by 50% the mining foreman skill effect, thus the mining amount bonus from that skill stays at 10% instead of 15% as it should be from the implant description.
I hope this helps to figure out how is the max mining yeld currently reachable by 1 hulk in gang.
